Prayer for When You Want to Hide

I understand hiding. I can hide for days sometimes and not talk to anyone about anything. Just grunt sometimes, lol. Sometimes we just don’t want to talk to anyone because of whatever. It’s ok. Can I come and sit with you?

Thanks. I come and sit next to you, wherever that may be. We are in this together. I don’t know why this is happening, but let’s ask the One who knows and can help. Lets’s pray.

Dear Lord,

I pray that you would hold ________ in your arms today. We are struggling and we need a place to rest. You said if we were weary we could come to You and You would give us rest. There are so many questions, and no answers. We don’t understand this. We sit at your feet Lord. We rest our heads on Your shoulder. Abba Father, help.

Lord, you know. Let us rest in the secret place with You and restore our hearts and minds. Heal our spirits Lord. Give us fresh annointing with your Holy Spirit and fill us up with the Living Water. We want to hide in You Lord, under the shadow of Your wings until we have the strength to get up. You are faithful Lord. You are our anchor in the storms. We need you Lord, in Jesus Name.

Be a Fountain and not a Drain

Have you ever run into a positive person? Their attitudes are contagious. They see the best in everything and everyone. Their words are encouraging and hopeful. They may not know everything but they know the God who does. I love “fountain” people. They bring refreshing everywhere they go.

What about a complainer? You know that person who finds fault everywhere they go. Nothing is good enough. Something is always wrong. All they pick out are the negative things about everyone. Gossipers, fault finders, and ungrateful people. They are the “drain” people. They drain the life right out of you.

Water flows. It was made to move. The wind catches it and there are waves and crests and currents. There is nothing more beautiful than looking out at the ocean as the waves roll in.

If the Holy Spirit is the wind – and Jesus is the living water within us – which way is the water flowing today?

I know I had to step back and distance myself from the “drain” people. That’s ok. That’s wisdom. In the past I used to “entertain” every spirit that came along. I tried to help everyone and fix everything. There was nothing more liberating in admitting I was not their Savior! I had to learn to say NO to the “drain” people and “YES” to the “fountain” people. Boundaries are good. They help me protect myself and what God has given me. Saying no to the “drain” people lets the Spirit flow in me!

Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,  but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” – John 4:13-14 NKJV

Dear Lord, help me to be a Fountain and not a Drain!

I was praying in the spirit
Seeking my daily bread
When the mighty Voice of Waters
Spoke to me and said:

“Bride of Christ Arise
Come up into the Heavenly skies
Sit down next to me
And tell me what you see”

I can see His glory coming
in waves over a sea
Reigniting His broken body
setting believers free

“Bride of Christ Arise
Come up into the Heavenly skies
Sit down next to me
And tell me what you see”

Addictions, sickness fall away
cast off by the sea’s crest
Anxiety and depression
like seaweed they left

“Bride of Christ Arise
Come up into the Heavenly skies
Sit down next to me
And tell me what you see”

I see the lame man dancing with new limbs
I see the dumb man talking to his friends
I see the blind man gawking at all he sees
I see the fatherless adopted into Your Royal Family

“Bride of Christ Arise
Come up into the Heavenly skies
Sit down next to me
And tell me what you see”

Water – Splashing Around with Daddy God

enjoy the water

Water

~Copyright 2015 Diana Rasmussen

This longing inside I just can’t hide
I hunger and thirst for your love deep inside
Let’s smile and laugh until the sun goes down
Let’s play, pick me up daddy please

I dive in your mercy
I jump in your grace
I’m splashing around till I see
The water on your face
Water that flows
Water that races
Water that fills
every empty place

Pick me up, put me up on Your shoulders
Daddy God I need You to hold me closer
Take me in Your arms, spin me around
Let’s play and never let me go

I dive in your mercy
I jump in your grace
I’m splashing around till I see
The water on your face
Water that flows
Water that races
Water that fills
every empty place

“Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant,
And Israel whom I have chosen.
Thus says the Lord who made you
And formed you from the womb, who will help you:
‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant;
And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessing on your offspring;
They will spring up among the grass
Like willows by the watercourses.’
One will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’;
Another will call himself by the name of Jacob;
Another will write with his hand, ‘The Lord’s,’
And name himself by the name of Israel.” (Isaiah 44:1-4 NKJV

Rain on Me

Here is a song and video from my friend Pat Flanakin. We met on Broadjam – a great place for musicians to share their music, get licensed, learn more, and a just have fun. Pat is a country musician from Nashville, TN. He reminds me of James Taylor. And his lyrics are amazing. Pat Flanakin

I still remember the first time I heard this song. It struck something deep in my soul. The tears started falling. And I didn’t even know why.  Sometimes there are songs that unearth hidden pain so that it can be healed. Hurts that have been locked away for years. Buried. And then God uses a song to heal that place. RAIN ON ME is one of those songs for me.

I confess, there are places in my heart that are barren and that need the water of the Lord to bring them back to life.  I am ready – to dance in the showers, for hours and hours.  Great song, and great video Pat!

RAIN ON ME ©Pat Flanakin

VERSE A desert wind can turn a stone to sand
And strip your soul of ev’ry dream you’ve ever had
And leave you with nothin’ but this barren land
Rain on me

VERSE A thousand mountains stand before my eyes
They hide the ocean on the other side
But I can smell the water and I can taste the tide
Rain on me
And let me taste the water
Water is what I need

CHORUS Come on you’ve got to rain on me
And let me taste the water
Water is what I need

VERSE California I don’t understand
You keep your treasures in your fisted hand
And you can make a beggar out of an honest man
Rain on me
Let me taste the water
Water is what I need

CHORUS Rain on me
And let me dance in the showers
For hours and hours

BRIDGE Oh I’m dying for just a drink
So let it rain down on me.

CHORUS You’ve got to rain on me
And let me dance in the showers
For hours and hours

CHORUS Come on you’ve got to rain on me
Let me taste the water
Cause water is what I need

I Was Thirsty – NaPoWriMo Day 20

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;  I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ (Matthew 25-34-36 NKJV)

Living Water

I WAS THIRSTY

Copyright 2014 Diana Rasmussen

*

I was thirsty, came to the well

The women refused to share

They made me feel stupid

for even being there

*

So I waited till they left

and drew it for myself

The water from Jacob’s Well

I had to drink for myself

*

That is where He met me

the Savior of the World

Asked me to pour for Him

Living Water of the Word

Three Women Looking

Daily Prompt: Fill In the Blank

Three people walk into a bar . . .
One drank to remember
Her love’s last embrace
*
One drank to forget
downed all her regrets
*
One drank to escape
painful shame erase
*
Hey Bartender,
can you pour one more round?
*
Pour me some mercy
Pour me some grace
Pour me some hope
To get out of this place
*
My cup is empty
I just want one more
*
Hey bartender,
can you pour one more round?
Just a question:
image
If You are the Bartender with 3 Women sitting at the well
What would you pour them? Will you condemn them?
Or do something more? Give them Living Water?
Or let them just walk away?
Jesus answered, “If you knew the generosity of God and who I am, you would be asking me for a drink, and I would give you fresh, living water.”
The woman said, “Sir, give me this water so I won’t ever get thirsty, won’t ever have to come back to this well again!” (John 4: 10,15 MSG)
