Prayer for When You Want to Hide

I understand hiding. I can hide for days sometimes and not talk to anyone about anything. Just grunt sometimes, lol. Sometimes we just don’t want to talk to anyone because of whatever. It’s ok. Can I come and sit with you?

Thanks. I come and sit next to you, wherever that may be. We are in this together. I don’t know why this is happening, but let’s ask the One who knows and can help. Lets’s pray.

Dear Lord,

I pray that you would hold ________ in your arms today. We are struggling and we need a place to rest. You said if we were weary we could come to You and You would give us rest. There are so many questions, and no answers. We don’t understand this. We sit at your feet Lord. We rest our heads on Your shoulder. Abba Father, help.

Lord, you know. Let us rest in the secret place with You and restore our hearts and minds. Heal our spirits Lord. Give us fresh annointing with your Holy Spirit and fill us up with the Living Water. We want to hide in You Lord, under the shadow of Your wings until we have the strength to get up. You are faithful Lord. You are our anchor in the storms. We need you Lord, in Jesus Name.

Where Do You Find Hope?

Hope – it was the number one word searched for in Google in 2014. We are all looking for Hope. She is friends with PEACE and JOY too. Once you are with those three, anything can happen! Here is a video I made a while back when I was searching for HOPE. Guess what? I found her!

God’s Word for You:

Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;Psalm 62
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
How long will you assault me?
Would all of you throw me down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
Surely they intend to topple me
from my lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.Psalm 71
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Surely the lowborn are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
Do not trust in extortion
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.
One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,
and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.”  (Psalm 62:1-12 NIV)

My Prayer for You:

Dear Lord,

We confess we have been looking for Hope in the wrong places. We thought our jobs, our houses, our friends, our spouses, and our money would bring us Hope. They do not. Today, we lay down our idols. We burn them outside of the camp. They are like grass, withering away. They are like the tumbleweed blowing in the desert sand. We are tired of chasing the wrong things. Create a clean heart in us today God, renew a steadfast spirit within us, and restore unto us the JOY of your Salvation, in Jesus Name.

When God is Everything

This is for my friend t.  Remember 911? I do. I was getting ready for work. I turned on the tv and saw the Towers go down.  Speechless. But yet nothing compared to what my friend t went through that day.  She was there that day – working. She survived. But her sister did not. T told me she is going to the dedication for the new museum honoring the victims of 911.  I have looked at the pictures and it still breaks my heart.

We met on a Christian Songwriting website.  Her courage is amazing. She is one of the women who I trust and I have shared so much life with over the past year – the good, the bad, and the ugly.  And yet I know she loves me, as I love her. We laugh and joke about getting older, life over 50, and well lots more stuff I can’t say, but she never ceases to amaze me.  God has woken her up at night to pray for me and my family, and He has woken me up to pray for her and her family. T and her husband have since adopted two children.

I don’t know if I would have made it this last year without her. She loves me and doesn’t judge me.  She listens, she shares the Word, and what God has told her. I can share my hurts, my shortcomings, and never once has she pointed a finger at me in judgement. We all have stuff. We all need love and grace. We all need mercy, and hope. And I don’t even know what she looks like! (Come on t…a pic?).

T has helped to restore, helped to renew and rebuild a new life – In me and others. She truly has been a “Repairer of the Breach” in my life and in her friends and families lives. She shows me Jesus lives and she gives me hope to keep trying when I would rather just quit. She magnifies the good, and helps me look at Jesus instead of my storms. She is a living testimony – of the goodness of God and the miraculous strength the Jesus Christ provides.

And, she is an amazing Christian Songwriter and Vocalist! I know – right!

We haven’t met – yet…

But I look forward to the day we can see each other face to face!

Feel free to tell us more about yourself. We want to know!

I am a 09/11 survivor who watched as the second plane hit WTC-2. My family is saved and Spirit-filled. My sister and I had never been separated before (38 years together). We lived in the same apt. building, worked in the same industry, even wore the same colors or clothes when we went to work, unbeknownst to both of us. She loved my husband and my brother and mother. Our dad had died of cancer when we were in college (yes the same school). Our family became very tight knit after Dad died. And we all enjoyed one another. A day never went by when Mary Ellen (my sister) and I didn’t laugh or sing together.

Anyway, she was instantaneously cremated We’ve never found any part of her. I witnessed way more than anyone would be prepared for, when just being at work on a gorgeous Tuesday morning in September. I worked next to WTC-1. Suffice it to say, I ended up with many health issues (considered a first responder because I inhaled the noxious toxic gas) and PTSD. BUT I’M HERE TO TELL YOU GOD NEVER LET GO OF ME!!! He healed me from many illnesses. While my heart is forever broken, it’s OK. Jesus is with me and mine. And Mary Ellen is with Jesus!

Part of the healing story took me back to one of my loves, writing music. I am currently unemployed and living in State College, PA ( Penn State), thus the need to sell my music. My husband has a job here, I watch over my mother here, and we are raising two beautiful children the Lord has allowed us to adopt as our own. I still have my fantastic brother, Joe, who works part-time in Manhattan (will always love that town) and here. He is a gifted writer and is healed to the point that he can begin his writing again. GOD IS GOOD. It is the fallen world, in which we live, that is bad. Bad things happen every moment of every day. We, as the church, must use what satan uses to destroy our souls, as the crutch to take to the Throne Room. Because without HIS grace we cannot stand. But with HIS grace we dance; because we are more than conquerors through Christ our Lord. The beauty of all of the past is that it emptied me of everything, so that all I had was HIM, and THAT IS EVERYTHING.

God Bless you and thank you for taking the time to read this narrative.

Bob, my husband, and I have worked for EarthCam, the Company that made this awesome video-the construction of the 911 museum…enjoy!

T has not only overcome, but she sings and gives all of us strength.  She recently gathered many musicians and engineers from around the country to give God praise.  Listen to her sing-she has the voice of an Angel! Love u t, d.

Get Up And Walk – NaPoWriMo Day 24

Some religion scholars sitting there started whispering among themselves, “He can’t talk that way! That’s blasphemy! God and only God can forgive sins.” Jesus knew right away what they were thinking, and said, “Why are you so skeptical? Which is simpler: to say to the paraplegic, ‘I forgive your sins,’ or say, ‘Get up, take your stretcher, and start walking’? Well, just so it’s clear that I’m the Son of Man and authorized to do either, or both . . .” (he looked now at the paraplegic), “Get up. Pick up your stretcher and go home.” And the man did it—got up, grabbed his stretcher, and walked out, with everyone there watching him. They rubbed their eyes, incredulous—and then praised God, saying, “We’ve never seen anything like this!” (Mark 2: 6-12 MSG)

GET UP AND WALK

Do you want to be well?

He asked me that day

I had to admit

I was comfortable that way

Things were familiar

I knew what to expect

as I lay on the mat

of all my defects

He looked into my eyes

I chose to believe

I could walk out of

my own misery

Walk out of your illness

Walk out of your guilt

Walk out of poverty

and all abuse

Walk out of depression

Walk out of addiction

Walk out of the shame

and all the lies

Take His hand

and go forward

 He makes all things new

And the way that I talked

changed the moment He told me to

“Get up and walk!”

Rainbow Promises – NaPoWriMo Day 21

Then God spoke to Noah and his sons: “I’m setting up my covenant with you including your children who will come after you, along with everything alive around you—birds, farm animals, wild animals—that came out of the ship with you. I’m setting up my covenant with you that never again will everything living be destroyed by floodwaters; no, never again will a flood destroy the Earth.”

God continued, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.”And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I’ve set up between me and everything living on the Earth.”   (Genesis 9:8-17 MSG)

ROFL with Restoration

ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing) with Restoration. Let me share a story. Once upon a time there was a girl who married a boy thinking life would be grand. But she was deceived. She used her name and her credit to buy him a van for his job. But he didn’t want to go. He didn’t “feel” like it. She followed him around for years as they lost house after house and car after car. After awhile the tow truck came and towed the van away – repossessed. They divorced after his unfaithfulness, yet the repossessed mark was still on her credit report…

Fast forward 13 years later for the Restoration:

The girl is remarried to a Prince. He goes to work. They buy a house in the country. She is so happy. They play music together all the time. They lead the worship team Janesville Apostolic Ministries. They needed a new car after meeting a deer. (See below)

The girl applied for a loan for a new used car. Her credit report sparkles. God gives her a car with no money down. Yes God can restore all things – even credit!

Now for the funny part:

Just as the salesman drives up to give the girl the new car her ex pulls into the car lot. He was dropping off the girl’s son. The salesman (who has no idea) pulls around the truck and parks the girls new car right in front of the ex. The salesman gives the girl the keys to her new car. The girls son gets out of the ex’s rusty truck and climbs into the new car. The ex glares at the girl with anger and then drives off. He gets lost in the parking lot figuring a way to turn around. The ex figures it out and drives by the girl and her son in a new car. If eyes were knives she would be dead. But no…

The girl? She is still ROFL with Restoration!
