This World Is Not My Home

DAILY PROMPT:
In a new post specifically created for this challenge, share a picture that evokes HOME for you.

THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME

Home is Heaven…

“But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.” (Philippians 3:20-21)

This world is not our home, we are just visiting.  We are Christ’s Ambassadors, sent to bring you the good news! (Oh yeah, and this body is just my temporary tent –  Hallelujah, thank you Jesus!)

“And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ.

And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.

And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us.

We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,

so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”

(2 Corinthians  5:18-21)

Childhood Revisited – Hell on Earth

DAILY PROMPT:

Sure, you turned out pretty good, but is there anything you wish had been different about your childhood? If you have kids, is there anything you wish were different for them?

One thing I would change – no more rapes or abuse of women. No more hurting children who end up as wounded wives and mothers. Only Jesus, love, healing, peace and forgiveness.  End of story.

HELL ON EARTH

2012 Diana Rasmussen

A story of a girl who was abused and raped, and the healing Jesus provides…

She was only a child, she tried to tell him no,
But he would not listen, a part of her he stole.
She felt used and dirty, couldn’t wash away the stains.
She bottled up her emotions, and buried her pain.

She would smile on the outside,
but she was dying on the inside,
She knew sorrow and shame.
She’d been through hell on earth.

She turned to drugs and razors, tried to cut the pain away.
Went from lover to lover, but no one could fill that place.
Jesus met her in her anguish,  He carried away her sorrow.
In His eyes, she was blameless, an innocent child again.

She would smile on the outside,
but she was dying on the inside,
She knew sorrow and shame.
She’d been through hell on earth.

Jesus said, “I saw what He did to you;
nothing is hidden from His gaze.
And I AM coming back soon,
I’ll avenge your enemies.”

cuz, she’d been through hell on earth.

GOD’S PROMISE TO YOU:

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). (John 10:10 AMP)

The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted,  The God Who avenges me and subdues peoples under me, Who delivers me from my enemies; yes, You lift me up above those who rise up against me; You deliver me from the man of violence(Psalm 18:46-48 AMP)

If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God’s] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord. (Romans 12:18-20 AMP)

My Prayer for You:

Dear Lord,

I know that there are many who have been wounded and hurt by wicked, evil men.  I know that You are good, and You did not want them to be hurt – what those men did was wrong.   I know You give every person the choice to choose good or evil, and that some men choose evil.  I thank you Lord, that I can trust you to deal with these evil people, because You promised to take care of it.  I trust in You, my hope is in You, and I cannot hold onto this hate anymore.  I give them (all of them) and my hate to You Lord.  Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.

And Lord, I would ask that you protect, heal, and deliver all the women that have been hurt, raped, or abused, in the mighty Name of Jesus.

Love

Weekly Photo Challenge: LOVE

My mom, me, and my kiddos…Thank you Jesus!

Love is one of those things you receive, and then pour out, from generation to generation…

(and God can make up for any jerks on the way)

Your Love lasts longer than your life
What you have poured into me
I have poured into them…
You have planted  a seed of love in my life and it blossomed and grew.
What your breathed into me I’ve breathed into them

Genesis 17:7

And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting, solemn pledge, to be a God to you and to your posterity after you.

Psalm 100:5
For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

Ready to “Flangiprop”?

DAILY PROMPT

Invent a definition for the word “flangiprop,” then use the word in a post.

Flangiprop:  What happens when you spontaneously break out in dance; and then get so dizzy spinning around that you fall down and hit the wall!

The funny thing is I went to Google to see if this really was a word, and all you see are our posts!  I guess it’s a word now!

Diana was found flangiproping today, after listening to random music. She better settle down, its almost time to go to work!

Here’s some fun choices if you’d like to join me….

Yep, I know I need help….Here’s hoping you are dancing today! 🙂

Tears on My Window

DAILY POST: Through the Window

Go to the nearest window. Look out for a full minute. Write about what you saw.

I see rain, I hear thunder, I see tears.  There are raindrops clinging to the window, and raindrops clinging to the trees.  The wind is blowing the trees, yet the raindrops still cling to the tree…

Nobody knows how much it cost you – to be you.

TD Jakes

“Sometimes we build thick impenetrable walls to protect the child in ourselves.  But by keeping everyone out, we are in a prison of our own making.  God can’t heal what we are trying to hide; be honest with yourself, its okay to not be okay.”

words from his TV show this am…

Today I am sad; I am not okay today. Its the anniversary of my mother-in-law’s death.  A year ago today we were in Monroe, WI at the nursing home, at Oma’s side when she passed from this world into the next. My youngest daughter stayed home from school today, she couldn’t stop crying.  My son went – he didn’t want to talk about it. My husband went to work –  he is sad inside.  And here I sit typing, kinda numb.  Tears come and go, yet I don’t know what to do with them.  Isn’t God supposed to collect all these tears?   All I can say, is He better have a big bucket.

How do you let it out, when you have stuffed your feelings for so long?  I’m afraid if I let go I will drown.  I know it’s not the healthiest way to deal with things; but this life thing is a journey, not a switch. And I am not drugging myself to oblivion with script drugs today.  And I am not hurting myself today.  Progress, not perfection, they say…

Her name was Anna, but we called her Oma.  She grew up in Germany during World War 2.  She would tell us stories about how there was no food, so they would go to the neighbors house and ask for a potato, to feed the family with.  And then, just references to the Nazi soldiers…She met an American Soldier, my father-in-law, and he rescued her and brought her home to America.  A real life hero!  She loved to tell us about all the places they had lived in the world.  My husband was born in Okinawa, Japan…

She was such a strong woman, so determined to make it.  She survived cancer 2 times.  Then it came back again. She didn’t have the strength to fight it anymore; she went home to be with Jesus.  I know we will see her again someday in Heaven, but it hurts not having her here today…

So, I will be quiet today, and I will read your posts on everything from depression to hope…you all bring me hope as I share in your laughter and your tears… And you all remind me that this life is only temporary; and all our tears will turn to joy someday.  Can we hurry up with that part God, I don’t like this crying part…Thanks for listening…

Let Me In (Trigger Warning)

DAILY PROMPT: Ode to a Playground

A place from your past or childhood, one that you’re fond of, is destroyed. Write it a memorial.

http://www.thephilfiles.com

(I took a few liberties with this one, my playground was not a physical place, it was in my mind)

LET ME IN (A poem from a long ago, far away place; by D Rasmussen)

On a dead-end street in any town
Lies an old condemned building.
With pieces falling all around.

The windows are cracked,
And the doors off of the hinge.
Wind blows through the holes,
And the roof is coming down.

Crouched in the corner,
Peeking around the side wall,
Is a fearful young child,
Feeling so small.

She’s locked in her prison,
can’t find her way out;
can’t see past fear and pain,
Yet she holds her hand out.

She calls for her Savior,
Jesus is His name,
He came to her table,
And fed her His Name.

She asks “why’d you come here,
Why would you want to be here?
He says “Don’t you worry,
Just rest as I care.”

He asks her, “But how can I feed you, if you won’t sit down?
How can I wash you, if you won’t slow down?
How can I give to you, if you won’t let go?
And how can I lead you, if you won’t follow?”

He says” I’m sitting here waiting, you invited me in,
Now come to my arms, and let me in.
I’ll make up the difference, shower you with my grace,
If only child, you would look at my face.”

So on that day the little girl came out of her prison,
And came to the Father, holding the Son’s hand.
He led her out of her darkness and pain,
And into the light, a new life, a new land.

The old building He demo’d,
no need for it now,
He delivered her to freedom,
and He took down the walls.

10 Minutes

Set a timer for ten minutes. Open a new post. Start the timer, and start writing. When the timer goes off, publish.

Whew, got the tag and the picture….this is wilds, 10 minutes of me rambling n…you sure?  Ok…

i am new to this blogging community.  And I have been enjoying learning all about you…there are so many different types of people here.  I love that!  I am amazed that we write about personal things.they is so liberating?  Idk. Kinda ironic, we write things here that our families and friends don’t even know about….

anyway. Back to the picture..I guess I’ve run into a lot of jerks in my day.  for awhile I thought I was wearing one of those signs taped to my back, “only jerks need apply, especially if you are a liar…”

what I found in my , was that I had a poor self image.   Mr. Smooze would come along, charm his way into  my heart with those words, and I fell for it.  I was so naive, I really thought everyone just told the truth. i wanted to be accepted so badly, that I didnt test anything. Ha,ha,ha, jokes on me.

2 more min, aghhhhh. better pray…

Lord, help us know the good from the bad, the truth from  the lies….and You can keep the jerks!

scripture: I am the Way, the Truth,  and the Life.  no one comes to the Father except through me…it’s somewhere in the book, John I think!

Sweet Sixteen and Rose-Colored Glasses

DAILY PROMPT

When you were 16, what did you think your life would look like? Does it look like that? Is that a good thing?

16? That seems like a lifetime ago. No, I am not as old as dirt (yet), just somewhere in between 16 and dirt!  Lets see, that would be a sophomore in High School.  Hmmmm. Classes then were things like Biology, Choir, and Algebra.  Oh yeah, and then Theatre. I loved being in plays – I could be someone else!  Yep, even then couldn’t wait to get out.

As far as what I wanted from life then, finish High School, go to college, and NEVER get married!  Life at home was a bit of a battle zone.  I never wanted any man telling me what to do.  Guess I was a little independent, as they say.

So, rose-colored glasses?….lets just say I was naive.  You really don’t learn a lot of life skills when you are playing mediator.

I thought once I moved out I would never go back… nope

I thought I would find someone who would love me and never leave me… nope

I thought I would never fight with my husband, well if I decided to get one…nope

I wanted the white picket fence… nope

Is it a good thing?  Yes.  I had no idea how to be a grown up. My expectations were unrealistic, they were based on fiction.  I just knew what to do to appease the masses, as they say.  I was a great chameleon.  Anything to avoid an argument.  I hated confrontation.  I would run.  Well, not really run. We had horses growing up, so I would get on my horse and ride away into the sunset.  Guess I’m still a romantic at heart!

Hey, got my fence!

Breaking the Law

Think about the last time you broke a rule (a big one, not just ripping the tags off your pillows). Were you burned, or did things turn out for the best?

Thanks for the great idea, mycookinglifebypatty

Weekly Photo Challenge: BEYOND

Weekly Photo Challenge: BEYOND

There is life beyond what we know,

Life beyond what we see and feel,

What we see is temporary,

What is unseen is forever.

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”  (2 Corin 4:16-18 MSG)
