Web of Lies
Like a spider weaving a web,
one lie built upon another,
All fashioned into your master plan
To deceive and kill another.
*
Smooth talk till I fold,
And follow you home.
But your venom you spew,
Waiting for the kill.
*
Does it run in your blood
To betray ones you love?
When you violate my home,
It’s personal.
I heard Tom Selleck say the quote above on Blue Bloods. Â It was one of those things that hit me right away. Yep, an “aha” moment. Â It made me recall all the lies I believed when I was in an unhealthy and abusive relationship. Â Denial is a powerful force. For many years I “knew” things were not right; but to admit it in the open meant I would have to make a new choice. Â It meant I would have to stop giving my life and my power to someone else. Â I had to choose to take my life back. Thank you Lord, for the truth, even though it hurt.
I know exactly what you mean. I lived there, too. So grateful the Lord brought us out!
Praying with you and God bless you!
Amen! Darkness has to flee where there is light! Jesus is the Light of the World! Yes, Lord, as you have set us free so set our sisters free too, in Jesus’ name!
Amen – And you shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall set you free! I am so thankful for the TRUTH that set me free from the bondage of too many years of lies… What a powerful poem Diana, and deeply moving. I pray that men and women everywhere would read the truth in your poem, and that the Lord would use it to unlock the chains of lies and abuse that have kept them bound as they read it, in Jesus’ name.
Many blessings,
Cheryl
Thank you Cheryl, kinda reminds me of Isaiah 61. Time to set some prisoners free! You really do feel like a prisoner when you live like that. I felt like I was crazy. I made him my God. I am glad I was wrong, he was not God. I agree with you, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free; today I am free.
And Lord, set ALL of the women that are bound FREE, in Jesus Name!
Amen – I’m touching in spirit and agreeing as one.
