14 Quotes on Keeping Your Peace

Some days are more peaceful than others. I wish I had a switch to turn on and off. Life gets crazy sometimes. These are the days I need to guard my heart and keep my peace, no matter what is going on around me.

This world is so LOUD. Ugggh. We are constantly bombarded with things, people, information, news, and life. Sometimes I just unplug, listen to music, and just be. I like candles and music. That helps me calm down. Sometimes I play piano or bass and just relax.

I like to connect with God and let the world just turn.  God is peace. His presence brings peace, no matter what the storm we are going through. I don’t need Facebook or Twitter to do that, just prayer and praise. God inhabits our praise. Want to feel closer to Him? Start praising Him. Pray to Him. God likes to talk with us, we are His kiddos. Thank Him – for anything. And just let it be…

What about you? How do you calm down and keep your peace?

God Went Ahead to Get Things Ready for You

Wherever you are going, whatever you are doing, God promised to go ahead of you to prepare the way. I can’t tell you how many times I have depended on these verses. I started a new job this week. I’m back in the School District helping kids. That part is exciting. But can I tell you I was really nervous the first day. I didn’t know what to expect. It’s not always easy being the new kid on the block. Walking into a new environment with all new people. I was pleasantly surprised. The Staff was amazing. The Secretries in particular have made me feel at ease each day. And I am setting up my classroom, learning new equipment, meeting new teachers, and learning new things.

I asked God to show me if this was the right move for me. Can I tell you He answered? I felt His Presence in an amazing way on my first day at school. There weren’t any kids there yet, just teacher work day. No bells, no whistles, no trumpets from Heaven or anything – just a calm peaceful feeling and the amazing awareness of His Presence. God was there – He went before me and prepared the way. He was waiting for me to get there. I just didn’t know it yet!

Who knew such a good thing was right round the corner?Best path

What about you? What new things are you facing?

Are you a Mom with the kids going back to school? Are you starting a new job? Looking for a job? A student heading back to school? A soldier heading overseas?  Are you retired looking for your next adventure?

How can I pray with you today?

GOD’S WORD FOR YOU:

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” – Deut. 31:8 NLT

“I will go before you and make the hard places smooth. I will break the brass doors to pieces, and cut through their iron gates.” – Isaiah 45:2 NLV

“But you will not go out in a hurry. You will not leave as if you were running for your lives. For the Lord will go before you. And the God of Israel will keep watch behind you.” – Isaiah 52:12 NLV

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,

I thank you that You go first. Thank you  for leading us in the way we should go. Thank you for the Holy Spirit that you have put inside of us so we can commune with you anywhere at anytime. Thank You for confirming Your Word with Your Presence in our everyday lives, in Jesus Name.

Peace is a Guard

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 AMP

Peace is a guard.

Picture the movie 300. Yeah, I know, kind of gory. There were scenes I couldn’t watch. But still lots of good lines. Remember that scene where all the soldiers are standing side by side with their shields up?  The enemy fired arrows at them and they bounced off the shields.

When I read the verse of the Day today from biblegateway.com this is the picture God gave me.  Funny how He can even use a war movie to teach me about peace.

His peace is our Shield.

Hold onto it.

Hold it up.

It covers our hearts and our minds.

It will extinguish the firey darts from the enemy.

His Peace is our Shield – use it.

when life is crazy – hold up His peace.

when bills aren’t paid – hold up His peace.

when you don’t feel well – hold up His peace.

when your mind starts spinning downward – hold up His peace.

when trials, temptations, or suffering comes – hold up His peace.

I did this all day today – with every thought, every feeling, every worry, every care.. Thank you Lord for revelation. What a difference, wow!

More quotes from 300

Stelios: It’s an honor to die at your side.
King Leonidas: It’s an honor to have lived at yours.

Persian: A thousand nations of the Persian empire will descend upon you. Our arrows will blot out the sun!
Stelios: Then we will fight in the shade.

Queen Gorgo: Freedom isn’t free at all, that it comes with the highest of costs. The cost of blood.

Queen Gorgo: I am not here to represent Leonidas; his actions speak louder than my words ever could. I am here for all those voices which cannot be heard: mothers, daughters, fathers, sons – three hundred families that bleed for our rights, and for the very principles this room was built upon. We are at war, gentlemen. We must send the entire Spartan army to aid our king in the preservation of not just ourselves, but of our children. Send the army for the preservation of liberty. Send it for justice. Send it for law and order. Send it for reason. But most importantly, send our army for hope – hope that a king and his men have not been wasted to the pages of history – that their courage bonds us together, that we are made stronger by their actions, and that your choices today reflect their bravery.

[while wrestling with his son]
King Leonidas: In the end, a Spartan’s true strength is the warrior next to him. So give respect and honor to him, and it will be returned to you. First, you fight with your head…
Queen Gorgo: Then you fight with your heart.
King Leonidas: [sees the Captain] What is it?
Queen Gorgo: A Persian messenger awaits you.
King Leonidas: Do not forget today’s lesson.
Pleistarchos: Respect and honor.
King Leonidas: Respect and honor.
