Heard an interesting sermon yesterday. I actually had to stop it in the middle – it really ‘got me’.

Have you ever wanted a really special bottle of perfume? Something unique and special that would capture the real you?  Women look for years trying to find that signature scent.  I know, I did. And I have changed my tastes from year to year too.  Even my daughters have a favorite perfume.

Here was a fun little test I took on BuzzFeed to find out what my signature scent would be. Here is my result:

What Should Your Signature Scent Actually Be?

You got: Jean Paul Gaultier Classique

You’re sexy without even trying to be. You find it easy to make friends wherever you go, and there is always a long list of people who want to date you. You’re feminine, pretty and very smart.

I have no idea what this smells like, but you know next time I am out and about I am going to see if I like it! And I am married – so no dating for Ms D – just my hubby Bob!

But here is a thought:

Did you know we carry perfume around?

It’s a special fragrance that cannot be bought at any store.

It is more precious than any fragrance ever.

We carry the fragrance of Christ wherever we go.

The Holy Spirit has it’s own distinct scent.

We are God’s Special Bottle of Perfume.

And both believers and unbelievers can ‘smell’ it!

But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere, aroma

For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:

To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is qualified (fit and sufficient) for these things? [Who is able for such a ministry? We?]

For we are not, like so many, [like hucksters making a trade of] peddling God’s Word [shortchanging and adulterating the divine message]; but like [men] of sincerity and the purest motive, as [commissioned and sent] by God, we speak [His message] in Christ (the Messiah), in the [very] sight and presence of God. (2 Corinthians 2:14-17 AMP)
