Jazzy Monday

Jazzy Monday. Here are a few of my instrumentals.  I love jazz. You don’t have to talk or think. Yep, it’s Monday!  Let’s rest and relax in Him today.

Dear Lord,

Today we take you up on your offer and today we REST.  You said you would lead us, guide us, provide for us, strengthen us, heal us, and save us.  Let it be done as we rest in You and Your Word today, in Jesus Name.

Now I Know Why God Never Sleeps

Have you ever had a sick child? A sick friend? A sick parent? You check on them all the time whether they are awake or asleep. You comfort them, you make sure they eat and drink fluids. You may give them medicine to help with their symptoms. You prop up their pillows, sit beside them, hold their hand, take their temperature, and anything else to help them recover. And you don’t leave their side until they are well. You might sleep on the couch just to be close to them and be there. Right?

Now I know why God never sleeps…

He has way too many kids!

Psalm 121

A Song of Ascents.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield].
The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.

The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Latter Rain

Daily Prompt: Thank You

Today I wanted to thank all those who have stopped by at my little “corner” of the World here at Prayers and Promises.  I am grateful for your presence. And I love to read about you and how you we are all growing stronger every day.  Some of the battles have yet to be won – yet I believe together we can accomplish much – with God’s help and direction. Thank you for listening, I really do appreciate all of your support.  I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have someone that actually listens to what I have to say.

You have helped me believe in myself again.

And the prayers you have prayed for me have been answered – I have such a peace today.

Thank you!

I pray God’s abundant peace and blessings to all of you, I love you all!

When I’m Weary

When I’m Weary

When I’m weary, heavy laden,
I come to You,
You give me rest.

When the storms are raging,
And waves of despair abound,
You bring me peace in the storm.

I rest my head on Your shoulder,
Look into Your eyes of love,
Troubles melt and hope’s renewed,
Suddenly, everything will be alright.

When my world crumbles,
and all my castles wash away.
In the shaking of the storms,
Jesus, let Your love remain.

A Long Ago and Faraway Place

A Long Ago And Faraway Place

Collaborative song with CU Productions, Scott Guthre, Diana Rasmussen

V1
I remember a time, when I felt you near,
An awe struck child with stars in my eyes
Anticipating, expecting grace.
A long ago, far away place.

How did I get here, where did I miss my turn?
I’m tired of walking alone.
I miss your smile, the love in your eyes,
My long ago, far away place.

CHORUS
I’ve come to my senses, leavin’ the past behind.
Your ways are higher, Your plans are good.
I’m Coming back, I want to go home.

V2
When troubles surround me,
When trials come my way,
I set my mind on things above,
and a Long ago far away place.

I lay down my worldly wisdom,
Become a child again.
Rest in your presence Lord,
My Long ago far away place.

BRIDGE
I follow in your footprints Lord,
ask you “Daddy where we going to?
You take my hand, You say to me,
“To a long ago far away place”

REPEAT CHORUS,  REPEAT VERSE 1,  REPEAT CHORUS

GOD’S PROMISE TO YOU:

“But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,

I ask you to break the yokes of heavy burdens today.  Let us rest in Your presence.  Let us fly like the eagle above the world it’s problems.  We choose to put our trust in You today.   Thank you Jesus!
