Carry the Light to the Darkness – Word from the Lord

Word from the Lord 1/24/16 given from the gifts of tongues and interpretations to Janesville Apostolic Ministries:

“Children of Israel, You have heard me say ‘Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world,’ but today I want to say that WE are greater than he who that is in the world because you are my church. You are the hands and the feet. You are the ones who are going who are going to take those who are shackled and set them free – through Me. You are the ones that are going to take the Fatherless and bring them home – to Me – because I AM greater than he that is in the world. And that means that you, the Church, are greater than he that is in the world.

Chains and shackles will fall, but they need something. They need you, take charge my children, to step forward and to trust Me; to hold me close as you go out to the world as the light they see – is Me. But I need you to bring the light to the darkness. I can go there but I ask you to go to that dark place – bring my light, bring my love, change a life. Trust me, trust me, I will never leave you or forsake you. I love you so much. I love you so much. I love you so much.”

Shadow and Light

Shadow and Light

“There are no shadows in darkness. Shadows are created by light, and only exist in the presence of light. Refusing to acknowledge our shadow leads us to deny the presence of light in us.”
― Franco Santoro

*

“The brightest flame casts the darkest shadow.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Clash of Kings

*

“Because the heart of our God is full of loving-kindness for us, a light from heaven will shine on us. It will give light to those who live in darkness and are under the shadow of death. It will lead our feet in the way of peace.”

-Luke  1:78-79

*

“Afflictions are but the shadows of God’s wings.”

-George MacDonald

*

“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.”

 -Matthew 4:16

*

“What men call the shadow of the body is not the shadow of the body, but is the body of the soul.”
― Oscar Wilde, A House of Pomegranates

 *

“But there will be no more heavy hearts for those who were suffering. In the past God allowed the lands of Zebulun and Naphtali to be put to shame. In the future He will honor Galilee where those who are not Jews live and where the road to the sea is. It is on the other side of the Jordan. The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. The light will shine on those living in the land of dark shadows.”

-Isaiah 9:1-2

*

“It’s part of what we call the Shadow, all the dark parts of us we can’t face. It’s the thing that, if we don’t deal with it, eventually poisons our lives.”

― Michael Gruber, The Good Son

*

“Everything that is,casts a shadow”
― Neil Gaiman, American Gods

*

“A shadow is never created in darkness. It is born of light. We can be blind to it and blinded by it. Our shadow asks us to look at what we don’t want to see. If we refuse to face our shadow, it will project itself on someone else so we have no choice but to engage.”
― Terry Tempest Williams, When Women Were Birds: Fifty-four Variations on Voice

*

“He uncovers deep things out of darkness,

And brings the shadow of death to light.”

– Job 12:22

*

“Rise up and shine, for your light has come. The shining-greatness of the Lord has risen upon you. For see, darkness will cover the earth. Much darkness will cover the people. But the Lord will rise upon you, and His shining-greatness will be seen upon you.  Nations will come to your light. And kings will see the shining-greatness of the Lord on you.

Lift up your eyes and look around you, and see. They all gather together. They come to you. Your sons will come from far away, and your daughters will be carried in the arms.  Then you will see and shine with joy. Your heart will be glad and full of joy, because the riches of the sea will be turned to you. And the riches of the nations will come to you.”

 -Isaiah 60:1-5

Ghosts From a Dream

I redid this poem today.  More wrestling with words and feelings.

Ghosts From A Dream

Ghosts from a dream
Blood curdling screams

Old Buried feelings
holding hidden meanings

Burial chambers
Echoing danger

Negative energy
Smiling cleverly

Up out of the grave
Trying to enslave

Contemptuous jeers
Whispered in my ears

Accusing echoes
Tormenting my soul

Secrets that covered
Buried and smothered

Feels out of control
Crazy thoughts GO

Drag them out of night
into the daylight

Darkness cannot fight
When exposed to Light

Shriveled old schemes
Ghosts from a dream

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

He was present originally with God.

All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.

And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].  ( John 1:1-5 AMP)

Here is the First version of Ghosts From A Dream,  back in August:

How to Unlock Your Heart

Resentment. . . a door quietly closes.

Anger… the door slams shut!

Hurts from your heritage.. . fasten the latch!

Weakened faith . . . throw the bolt!

Four elements that can lock up a heart, keeping delight out and darkness in.  Resentment, the cocaine of the emotions.  Anger, the destroyer of joy.  Your heritage- the straitjacket of expectation.  Declining faith- the marauder of hope.” ~ Max Lucado

You can read more of Max’s thoughts on how to open a locked heart here:

Stronger in the Broken Places.

(Just a sidenote for those of you who have been in abusive relationships. Forgiveness does NOT mean I will let him hit me again. I had a very twisted view of what Forgiveness meant.  I thought that I was supposed to just ‘forgive and forget’ and let him do it again and again – 70 x 7 right? Wrong.  My forgiveness towards my abusers meant I would not take revenge, nor put myself or my children in harm’s way, but that I would trust GOD to deal with him. I had to let go of the ending  – and walk away.  I was not his Savior, I was not going to change him, it was not my job.  My warped thinking kept me hostage for a long time.  More to come on this area!)
