Stop for a moment. Be still. Take a deep breath – inhale with your nose, exhale with your mouth. Let’s do this 7 times. Relaxed? or at least a little better? I know that sometimes my mind rambles. Why do we as humans always believe the worst for ourselves? It happens to me right when I wake up. I sit up, stumble to the bathroom and I hear the Enemy in my head:
- ‘You are Ugly’
- ‘You will never lose weight’
- ‘Nobody cares about you’
ad infinitum, etc. blah, blah, blah…
Then I had a thought, I could choose which thoughts to believe. I do have a choice! And I have been making this choice everyday now. I could either believe those negative, self destructing thoughts, let them in my heart and spirit – then I would live the day depressed, deflated, and empty. Or, if I rebuked those thoughts I would feel better about myself, I would sense God’s presence, I would lift up my head and says things like:
- ‘Shut up Devil and get out! You are a liar and a thief’
- ‘God said I am beloved. I am chosen. I am his daughter/son. I am covered under the blood of Jesus.
- I know the Enemy walks the face of the earth looking for someone to devour. It’s not going to be me today.
- Shut up Enemy and go back to where you came from
- God has sent angels over me to protect me. I am hiding in the shadow of God.
I don’t have to believe every thought that comes in my head. Some are good, some are evil. I can CHOOSE which thought I BELIEVE! #choices #thoughts #peace
