Finding God’s Peace in Nature: A Journey of Calm and Spiritual Connection

There are so many voices out there today. People, places, phones, computers, devices, etc. all competing for our attention. Not to mention the news, there’s one source that will keep you head spinning! I find it helpful to take a break and to find peace in the little things.

I took my sister in law for a drive yesterday, just for fun. I am blessed with a Jeep Gladiator and I took the top off to start our adventure. We drove to a small town about an hour from home and just enjoyed the ride. Nature is so beautiful and green. It was exhilarating letting the breeze hit your face as we drove. We saw cornfields, soybean fields, cows, horses, goats, and sheep, God’s living world all around us. Home after home with beautiful fragrant flowers blooming. What a blessing to be alive.

Driving helps me calm down and find God’s peace. Well, not on those busy highways like I-90, but the back roads that wander through the countryside. In these moments I find it easy to rest in God and listen to the Holy Spirit. In the quiet I can abide with God and let His Word and His presence flood over me with peace. How about you? How or where do you find the best place to commune with God and listen to His Holy Spirit?

God’s Word for You

“Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10 AMP

Be still before the Lord; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him;
Do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. – Psalm 37:7 AMP

“Incline your ear [to listen] and come to Me;
Hear, so that your soul may live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
According to the faithful mercies [promised and] shown to David. – Isaiah 55:3 AMP

The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.  I and the Father are One [in essence and nature].” – John 10:27-30 AMP

 So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ. – Romans 10:17 AMP

My Prayer for You:

Dear Lord,

Lead us to your peaceful presence. Let us find you in our day to day life. Surprise us with your goodness and mercy. Open our eyes to your presence, let your glory fill our hearts as we go about our day. Thank you Jesus, for you are life and you bring us life more abundantly!

    I used to do a lot of camping. The younger years was a blanket on the ground and maybe a tent. Then a motor home was safer in my older years, with the sound of the birds bringing in a new day, leaves rustling in the breeze. Now gentle waves rolling onto the sea shore, white sand sifting through my fingers, and the sun caressing my shoulders, with seagulls squawking overhead will bring a peace beyond all understanding to my weary soul. Oh yes, nature at it’s best with the Lord sitting beside me.
