There are so many voices out there today. People, places, phones, computers, devices, etc. all competing for our attention. Not to mention the news, there’s one source that will keep you head spinning! I find it helpful to take a break and to find peace in the little things.
I took my sister in law for a drive yesterday, just for fun. I am blessed with a Jeep Gladiator and I took the top off to start our adventure. We drove to a small town about an hour from home and just enjoyed the ride. Nature is so beautiful and green. It was exhilarating letting the breeze hit your face as we drove. We saw cornfields, soybean fields, cows, horses, goats, and sheep, God’s living world all around us. Home after home with beautiful fragrant flowers blooming. What a blessing to be alive.
Driving helps me calm down and find God’s peace. Well, not on those busy highways like I-90, but the back roads that wander through the countryside. In these moments I find it easy to rest in God and listen to the Holy Spirit. In the quiet I can abide with God and let His Word and His presence flood over me with peace. How about you? My Prayer for You:
Dear Lord,
Lead us to your peaceful presence. Let us find you in our day to day life. Surprise us with your goodness and mercy. Open our eyes to your presence, let your glory fill our hearts as we go about our day. Thank you Jesus, for you are life and you bring us life more abundantly!
