Recycled Hearts

Feeling Empty?

Feeling like Trash?

Did someone throw away your heart?

Is your container empty?

Have you lost hope?

Do you wonder what happened?

Lift your head my friend – the King of Glory is coming into your situation to heal your heart and restore your life. There is hope. Let Him love on you today.

 RECYCLED HEARTS

~Copyright 2015 Diana Rasmussen~

God is a Master Recycler.

Give Him your empty heart – He will fill it with Living Water.

Give Him your hopelessness – He will fill you with renewed hope and promise.

Give Him your old life –  He will give you a fresh, new start.

Give Him your past –  He will open up your present and bless your future.

Give Him your empty bottle – He will fill it with the oil of the Holy Spirit

Give Him your heart – and He will fill it with love.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. (Romans 5: 3-5 NLT)

Faith Moves

I was running errands yesterday and saw a homeless man walking with a duffle bag. That’s probably all he owned. It reminded me of when I was homeless and desperate. It was not a good memory. Yet, it got me here.

I had $15 in my wallet. But I was selfish yesterday. I drove right by him. I was the Pharisee that crossed the street and did nothing. Forgive me Lord. I saw my brother in need and I did nothing. Change my selfish heart Lord. Let me see my brother’s and sister’s needs and be the blessing to them instead of hoarding everything for myself. Let me seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with my God.

Faith
Gives
Does
Moves
Flows

Currents of possibilities

Flow through invisibility
Surging Energy in between what is and what will be
Bringing the Kingdom from Heaven to Earth
Lighting up the darkness of disbelief
Overflowing provision
Abounding grace
Meeting every need
Overflowing provision
as the Body ACTS
FAITH MOVES
Faith Without Works Is Dead

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,  and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?  Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?  Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.(James 2:14-26 NKJV)

Anxiety Attacks

Some days are gray for me. Some are full of sunshine and roses, and some days are not. Today is a day of running and bouncing from here to there. I am grateful, yet stressed. These past few months have been a battle that’s for sure. Sometimes fears and anxiety washes over me like a fog. Has this ever happened to you? I wish I had more control over my feelings. Is there a switch somewhere that I can turn on and off? I am tired today too, I know that doesn’t help. These are the days that I have to ‘eat’ the Word. Even if I’m not hungry. Even if I don’t ‘feel’ like it. I have faith – I just didn’t know I was going to get so many opportunities to use it, lol! Here’s a poem I wrote about how I feel today. I know I’ll have to share it with my counselor. I can hear her now…

God’s Word for You:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

My Prayer For You:

Dear Lord,

So many of us are battling depression, fear, and anxiety – me included. You know some days are good for us and some days are not. No matter how we feel Lord, we turn to You. You are greater than our hearts. You are greater than our feelings. You said you would not leave us – not during the good times, and not during the sad, anxious, and fearful times.  We choose to hang on to You and trust that You have a plan.  Yep, You are the tree and we are the kitty. Just hanging in there Lord. We cast our cares on You Lord – you said you wanted them, you can have them. And Lord, help us keep all our marbles in our vase, in Jesus Name!

Warrior Angels

Warrior Angels

When I prayed You answered
as I asked and believed
Provision was sent from Heaven
Even when delayed by enemies
You sent Warrior Angels to meet my need
I felt the Shift in the atmosphere
I heard the Heavenly Battle Cry when
You turned your face towards me on high
brought me overflowing supply
With Warrior Angels by my side
Messengers of Mercy
Sent to strengthen, cover, and protect
Win the battle in the Heavenlies
Lord, You alone can tip the scales
with Your Mighty Warrior Angels

Prophecies Concerning Persia and Greece
Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”

When he had spoken such words to me, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless. And suddenly, one having the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me, “My lord, because of the vision my sorrows have overwhelmed me, and I have retained no strength. For how can this servant of my lord talk with you, my lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me.”

Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me. And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”

Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come. But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth. (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince. (Daniel 10: 10-21 NKJV)

Untangle Me

Untangle Me

Copyright 2015 Diana Rasmussen

Knotted to misconceptions
Must have lost the directions
Wound around past failures
Turn around this old behavior

Let me be the diamond
you wear around your neck
Restore the part of me that’s wrecked
Turn things around from end to end
Lord, untangle me

Untwist my dark clouded mind
Unscramble the truth from lies
Unravel the devil’s schemes
Straighten out all my hope and dreams

Let me be the diamond
you wear around your neck
Restore the part of me that’s wrecked
Turn things around from end to end
Lord, untangle me

Love Wins

Love Wins

Copyright 2014 Diana Rasmussen

Always gonna be the haters
those who point and laugh
Bullies want to put you down
to get you to doubt
Who I am on the inside
Is more than you see on the outside
Even when I fall,
I’ll rise 7 times stronger
You can’t keep me down, I’ll last longer
Hate may fight in the night
But in the end, love wins
They have hearts of stone, cold as ice
They beat you down with
Angry words that cut like knives
they are all just lies
Who I am on the inside
Is more than you see on the outside
Even when I fall,
I’ll rise 7 times stronger
You can’t keep me down, I’ll last longer
Hate may fight in the night
But in the end, love wins
I am perfect in God’s eyes
Chosen, marked, and loved
That’s all that I need
it’s good enough for me

GOD’S WORD FOR YOU:

The Way of Love

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.

If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

(1 Corinthians 13:1-7 The Message (MSG))

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for reminding us today that Love Wins!  Despite all the trials, tribulations, and sandpaper people we run into – love wins.  Thank you Lord that your love is the greatest force ever created in the universe.  Help us to walk in love towards You. Let us love our neighbors as we love ourselves. And let us love ourselves as You love us, in Jesus Name.

Love Waits

I wrote this poem 8 months ago as I sat in the waiting room with my husband, my kids, and my father. My step mom was going in to have part of her lung removed for cancer. I have never seen my dad in a waiting room of a hospital – ever. He hates hospitals. Yet he came, he sat, he waited. We held hands and prayed together before she went in. We were all in tears. We brought her a prayer cloth from church. More tears.

And we went to the waiting room. To wait. And trust. That God had it under control and no matter what happened, He would hold her in His arms. And it would be ok.

My dad’s love for my stepmom touched my heart that day. My dad is not a talker. He is kind, gentle, and would do anything for anyone. It wasn’t always that way – but things changed. He is not who he used to be. And neither am I.

My dad showed me that day that love sits, love endures, love waits. He taught me that day – in his sitting and waiting and silence.

I saw that same love with my father-in-law and my mother-in-law as well. Opa and Oma have shown me what real love looks like too. I was speechless as he sat by her side those last days, and was just there. The love they have lasts forever. Love is not bound by life in this world – love is stronger than death and cancer and surgery. Love is forever.

Country Corner

Tomorrow is my dad’s birthday, got me reminiscing about growing up on the farm. I sure had fun. Horses and chickens and cats and dogs and lots more stuff. Here is a song I am working on with my friend Frank Radice from Danbury, Conneticut. Most of the lyrics are things I remember from our farm.

COUNTRY CORNER

2014 Music and Lyrics by Frank Radice and Diana Rasmussen

Red plaid flannel shirts and blue denim jeans
machine shed and parts, fathers with log splitters
horses and chickens, puppies and kittens
cows in the barn and huge weeping willows

baby chickens in the kitchen, dinner on the stove
acres of fence and moms picking up kids
flowers and pink lemonade in glass pitchers
homegrown veggies, beef and moonshine liquor

She stands in Country Corner, smilin’ wide and bright
She drives an Old Chevy cuz that’s what she likes
And the city will never bring her down
she’ll stand in Country Corner cuz
she’s part gun powder and lead

tractors driving down the middle of the street
old pick up trucks, rolling stops on the roads
yellow school buses and dogs chasing cars
lots of old farmhouses with big red barns

big wrap around porches, hanging swings
lilac bushes outside big bay windows
corn fields planted in straight pretty rows
fields of oats and hay, a garden that grows

She stands in Country Corner, smilin’ wide and bright
She drives an Old Chevy cuz that’s what she likes
And the city will never bring her down
she’ll stand in Country Corner cuz
she’s part gun powder and lead

Sweet as sugar, hard as ice
Hurt her once, she’ll shoot you twice

She stands in Country Corner, smilin’ wide and bright
She drives an Old Chevy cuz that’s what she likes
And the city will never bring her down
she’ll stand in Country Corner cuz
she’s part gun powder and lead

Can I Run Into Your Arms?

CAN I RUN INTO YOUR ARMS?

Copyright 2014 Diana Rasmussen, dedicated to t

when my life won’t unwind
and I can’t clear my mind
can I run into your arms
my shelter in the wind
when my heart is crying out
and I’m numb to the world
can I run into your arms
my lover in the pain
when my eyes rain with tears
from crying with all my fears
can I run into your arms
my healer in despair
when my ears say life is loud
and I’m hiding from the crowd
can I run into your arms
my peace inside the storm
when my mind says I am done
and I want to turn and run
can I run into your arms
my hope when I have none

“The Well” by Casting Crowns

Leave it all behind,
Leave it all behind,
Leave it all behind,
Leave it all behind,

I have what you need,
But you keep on searchin,
I’ve done all the work,
But you keep on workin,
When you’re runnin on empty,
And you can’t find the remedy,
Just come to the well.

You can spend your whole life,
Chasin what’s missing,
But that empty inside,
It just ain’t gonna listen.
When nothing can satisfy,
And the world leaves you high and dry,
Just come to the well

[CHORUS:]
And all who thirst will thirst no more,
And all who search will find what their souls long for,
The world will try, but it can never fill,
So leave it all behind, and come to the well

So bring me your heart
No matter how broken,
Just come as you are,
When your last prayer is spoken,
Just rest in my arms a while,
You’ll feel the change my child,
When you come to the well

[CHORUS:]
And all who thirst will thirst no more,
And all who search will find what their souls long for,
The world will try, but it can never fill,
So leave it all behind, and come to the well

Yeah
Leave it all behind

The world will try, but it can never fill… leave it all behind

And now that you’re full,
Of love beyond measure,
Your joy’s gonna flow,
Like a stream in the desert,
Soon all the world will see that living water is found in me,
Cuz you came to the well

[CHORUS:]
And all who thirst will thirst no more,
And all who search will find what their souls long for,
The world will try, but it can never fill,
So leave it all behind, and come to the well

[Outro:] leave it all behind, leave it all behind… [repeat]

Out of the darkness and into the light

All of my troubles left by the wayside

Feels like I’m coming out of a cave

Things changed when You called my name

Just when I thought I was down for the count

At the end of myself with no way out

Casting down this familiar coat of lies

Your love makes me believe in miracles

THANKFUL

What You See is What You Get

WYSIWYG

What you see is what you get

But my God isn’t finished yet

He calls me friend

I’m not condemned

Haven’t you heard?

It’s a new thing

Changing me

from the inside

Not by power

Not by might

But by His Spirit

All things made new

Good measure

pressed down

shaken together

My cup runs over

So many blessings

I can’t contain

Whole from the inside

Blessed Beyond Belief

“He Knows My Name”

by Francesca Battistelli

Spent today in a conversation
In the mirror face to face with
somebody less than perfect
I wouldn’t choose me first if
I was looking for a champion
In fact I’d understand if
You picked everyone before me
But that’s just not my story
True to who You are
You saw my heart
and made
Something out of nothing

[Chorus:]
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,
He knows my name oh, oh

I’m not meant to just stay quiet
I’m meant to be a lion
I’ll roar beyond a song
With every moment that I’ve got
True to who You are
You saw my heart
and made
Something out of nothing

[Chorus]

He calls me chosen, free forgiven, wanted, child of the King,
His forever, held in treasure…
I am loved

I don’t need my name in lights…
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes…

[Chorus]

Masks

Masks

Copyright 2014 Diana Rasmussen

You can keep your Top 40
Wear those $100 jeans
I see right through you
Just wanting to be mean

You smile to my face
Then stab me in the back
Spread my secrets for
Bread crumbs like a task

Do you love me or hate me?
I just have to ask
I can’t tell the difference
When you hide behind masks

Gossip and slander while
you say you’re my friend
I wish I had the answers
But you want to pretend

You love to criticize
Anything, everyone
I wish I hadn’t trusted
You in the long run

Do you love me or hate me?
I just have to ask
I can’t tell the difference
When you hide behind masks
