Peace Quilted

Peace – we all want it.  But what is it?

Full Definition of PEACE

1:  a state of tranquillity or quiet: as

:  freedom from civil disturbance
:  a state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom <a breach of the peace>

2:  freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions

3:  harmony in personal relations

4   a :  a state or period of mutual concord between governments

:  a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity

5—used interjectionally to ask for silence or calm or as a greeting or farewell

— at peace

:  in a state of concord or tranquillity

(“Peace.” Merriam-Webster.com. Merriam-Webster, n.d. Web. 5 Dec. 2013.)

Yeah, that is one way to look at it.  But I believe there is more.  Peace is more than a state of harmony, more than a freedom from war.

I believe Peace is a Person – Jesus Christ.

There can be NO PEACE without Him.

Wrap me in mercy
As my life is rebuilt

Stitch me together
With love as the thread
Squares of life’s journey
Joined end to end

Bring warmth to my family
An heirloom passed down

The Object of His Love

The Object of His Love

In the fire of affliction,
the valley of despair,
Carrying burdens
He refused to leave me there.
*
He wraps His arms around me
restores my peace of mind.
Takes me by the hand.
helps me up so I can stand.
*
He melts every fear I had,
the friend I never knew.
looks on me with love,
grace and mercy from above.
*
The Lord carries my worries,
His love heals all my scars.
He restores my soul.
the Father I never had.
*
His love is greater than my pain.
The desire of my heart
the healer of my soul
I’m the object of His love.

Created To Be Loved

Describe your ultimate escape plan (and tell us what you’re escaping from)

My Escape – the Word of God.

It allows me to leave this world and it’s troubles behind, and soar in the Spirit to new places. I escape from the cares of this life, the worries, the past, the pain, etc.

This world cannot hold me, I do not belong here, just a pilgrim passing through.  Come, let us leave this place and travel in the Spirit to our God.  Let us look upon His face, and behold His glory, and be changed.

Created to be Loved

The Creator of the universe
is the creator of my life.
He paints His grace and mercy
on the canvas of my face.

*

He molds me and He makes me,
into the masterpiece you see.
I am created with the love of God,
His breath’s inside of me.

*

I am created to be loved,
endowed with power from up above.
He is a marvelous display,
I’m captured by His grace.

*

He’s the Lord of all Creation,
and I look upon His face.
I rest in His forgiveness,
because I am created to be loved.
