The Spirit of the Lord

Rejoicing in the Word with Isaiah 61.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Keep a Notebook by the Bed

Daily Prompt: Keep a Notebook by the bed

Let God

This is so true. I have notebooks everywhere. It seems that I get the best inspiration when I am NOT trying.  I was surprised to learn that God speaks to us in dreams and visions. I was one of those people that hardly ever dreamt, or I didn’t remember them.  After I found scripture, the Living Word, I asked God to restore my dreams.
 Wow, that’s sure a statement, “God, restore my dreams”…
Well ,He did…in more ways than I could have ever imagined possible.

 PROMISES  TO YOU FROM GOD:

  • “he said, “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.” ” Numbers 12:6
  •  “For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it.   In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, And conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the Pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.”  Job 33:14-18
  •  “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy,  your old men will dream dreams,  your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women  I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”  Joel 2:28-29

Just a thought: Maybe this is the only time that I am quiet enough to listen…to just be…thank you Jesus, for sleep!

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord Jesus, I pray that you restore our dreams, our visions.  Speak Lord, your servants are listening.  Quiet our minds and hearts as we rest in You, and open our eyes to see You, and our ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.  Jesus, you redeemed us at the cross with Your blood, You have paid the price for our sins, we accept your forgiveness and salvation.

Come Holy Spirit come,  Show us how to dream again…
