Put Your Hand in The Hand

Yesterday Pastor Jeff Hanson of JAM, shared a story that just “got” me!

Imagine a little girl holding her daddy’s hand…

Here is a short story with a beautiful message…

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter,
‘Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don’t fall into the river.’
The little girl said, ‘No, Dad. You hold my hand.’
‘What’s the difference?’ Asked the puzzled father.
‘There’s a big difference,’ replied the little girl.

‘If I hold your hand and something happens to me,
chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,
you will never let my hand go.

I KNOW FOR SURE THAT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS –

YOU WILL NEVER LET MY HAND GO!

This hit me right away.  All that trying to please daddy, trying to be a good kid and get it right, and hold on tight and not let go.  But it’s not about that…I could even LET GO AND LET GOD.  He’s got it – He’s holding onto me – and His grip is stronger than mine.  Thank you Daddy God that you hold onto me no matter what!
