- Are You Happy with Your Lot?
- Do you like your Life?
- How do you measure your happiness?
- What is your ruler?
- What do you do when stuff happens?
This is what I got to come home to yesterday after church. Happy Mother’s Day – right? This is the 3rd flat time we have had in the last month on two cars. Yeah. Fun – not. No, I do not have nails in my driveway. It is just one of those crazy things that happen in life. Maybe a stalker? Idk – maybe the tires are just old. Maybe it’s just life. S*&t happens right?
Do you ever have days like that?
How do you keep your peace?
I had to learn not to base my happiness on my circumstances. Too many crazy things happen in a day. When I did that I felt like a ping-pong ball going back and forth – I was a basket case. I had to change my ruler. Change the way I measured my happiness. And not let my peace be determined by my circumstances.

What is your ruler for peace?
Your job?
Your bank account?
Your relationship?
Or is it the Word of God?
GOD’S WORD FOR YOU:
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] (John 14: 26-27 AMP)
MY PRAYER FOR YOU:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for giving us Your peace. Let us hold on to that when life and circumstances try to take our peace away. You gave it to us, and we are going to keep it – flat tire or not! Thank you Lord, that you never leave us or forsake us, and that you make a way where there is no way. Forgive us for doubting You, and relying on our own knowledge. Thanks that Your ways are higher than our ways, and thanks that we don’t always have to understand it- just believe it and receive it – in Jesus Name.
{Psst – I’ll bet you meant this was the 3rd flat *tire* – not *time*!}
Learning to be content in every situation is something that comes over time – with lots of opportunities to practice. We’re working on this at this time as well. At least mine doesn’t require lug nuts and jacks. 😉 (Just 8 extra people living in our house…wanna trade? 😀 )
