Isaiah 40:26 Look up into the heavens.Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.
Psalm 33:6 The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.
Genesis 22:17 I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.

Psalm 147:4-5 He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!
Jeremiah 33:22 And as the stars of the sky cannot be counted and the sand on the seashore cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of my servant David and the Levites who minister before me.”
Just relaxing and watching an old movie. And you hear it. That one sentence that God is speaking to you with. It stirs your heart. And rumbles in your soul. It was just another line of the movie. But the weight of the words hits you like a ton of bricks. Tony was watching an old movie that his father made for him. His father had passed away years earlier. But he thought ahead and said:
“I made all this for you.
What is and what always will be my greatest creation – is you.”
– Iron Man 2
And I hear Abba Father saying this to you and I today. God made this world for you. And it is good. And God made you and I and called it VERY GOOD!
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you. – Luke 17:5-6 NIV
Have you ever been to the desert? Miles and miles of sand with no water in sight. Even the cactuses look dry. Sometime I have found that my life seems like a desert. Sometimes relationships or jobs or hope just dries up. And it seems like there is no hope. Been there? Yeah me too.
Just when I give up it seems that God shows up. I really think He was there the whole time. He said He would never leave me or forsake me. Maybe in the desert I just forgot that part. Heat will do that to a girl…
But God promises us rain – to refresh, to renew, and restore everything we thought had dried up. Hang on friends, here comes the rain!
Now Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of the roar of an abundance of rain.” -1 Kings 18:41
If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and obediently do them, then I will give you rain in its season, and the land will yield her produce and the trees of the field bear their fruit. – Leviticus 26:3-4
The Lord will open for you His good treasure house, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. The Lord will make you the head leader and not the tail follower; and you will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen and pay attention to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today, to observe them carefully. – Deuteronomy 28:12-13
When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise. – Proverbs 8:19
We sit silently and watch the world around us. This has taken a lifetime to learn. It seems only the old are able to sit next to one another and not say anything and still feel content. The young, brash and impatient, must always break the silence. It is a waste, for silence is pure. Silence is holy. It draws people together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking. This is the great paradox.-Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook
“The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward. – Exodus 14:14-15
He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words. -Elbert Hubbard
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. – Isaiah 53:7
But Joshua commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout nor let your voice be heard nor let a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I tell you, ‘Shout!’ Then you shall shout!” – Joshua 6:10
When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. – Revelation 8:1
Just going about my normal everyday life when God speaks this to my spirit,
“You can’t fly without resistance”
Hmmm. Ok. So I think about an airplane. It was made to fly. It may sit on the ground for years waiting to take flight. Yet it was engineered to fly. It has everything it needs already to succeed. It was made that way. The wings engineered in such a way that when they hit the wind it takes off and leaves the ground. Defying all logic and despite how many pounds it weighs you can’t keep it down. A flap here, a little acceleration, point it’s nose up and there it goes. Doing what it was created to do. Flying above the world and all its troubles. Just flying.
Maybe we are like that plane. God created us to succeed. God promised we would overcome the world just as He did. Yes in this work we have troubles. We have resistance from people, places, and things. And sometimes that resistance seems overwhelming. But we were made to fly. So pick up your head, look up to Jesus, and let that resistance hit your wings. God made you to fly. We will overcome – God promised!
Maybe all that resistance in our life was just to help us fly!
“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
I have found one thing to get me through the tough times. And it seems it is not the easiest thing to do. It is certainly not the first thought that comes to mind. Yet it helps me move forward when I am stuck.
“Thank You Lord”
Yeah. Finding one good thing in any situation turns my attitude around. I don’t want to be one of those people stuck out in the desert for 40 years. I am ready Lord – to enter the Promised Land with an Attitude of Gratitude! What are you grateful for today?
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.[a]
4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. 5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. 8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
