It’s Broken

be yourself

Life lessons at the copy store. I had a UPS part to drop off the other day and a local office store lets us drop off packages there instead of driving to the south side of town.  So I walked in with my package. There was one girl behind the big counter. She was towards the back of the counter pulling paper out of a copy machine. Whatever project she was working on looked broken.  Something wasn’t right. She looked at me and turned back to her task at hand.  She seemed very frustrated. It was like the paper ripped in the copy machine and she was pulling it out piece by piece.

As time slipped by I started getting more and more frustrated.  I am thinking in my head, “Hello, do you see me here? Are you trying to ignore me? I am the customer here – come on chickey.” But the longer I stood there, the more she buried her head in the copy machine to fix it.  Finally I resigned and just waited thinking, ” I guess I’ll just have to wait until she is done.”

Immediately God spoke to my spirit.

IT IS BROKEN

I AM FIXING IT

GIVE ME A MINUTE HERE…

Yeah, really.  In my impatience I was only worried about what I wanted and what I needed.  And I want it now! This is true for so many areas of my life right now.  I don’t see the big picture. I am getting lost and worried in the details. I have so many unanswered questions. But God, in His goodness, showed me He has it. He is fixing it. And I just need to give Him a minute…

God bless you as we go into a new season and all the kids go back to school.

Trust God

  1. I had a very similar experience the other day, but did not have the redeeming insight so quickly as you did. Thank you.

    • Thank you too my friend. We are partners in this journey. I look forward to reading what God is teaching you too. Blessings, Diana
