Printing with God’s Abundance

Printing with God’s Abundance? What are you talking about Miss D? Let me share a funny story.

This past year has been our test – with relation to money. This is just one example of God’s provision in my life. We own our own small business, INNOVATIVETEKS,  an IT Consulting and Computer Repair Business. As in all small businesses there are times of feast and times of famine. This past year or so has been the famine. Yet our God, has provided. In amazing ways.

Two years ago I broke both bones in my lower leg at a job. We did not have workmans comp – we are independent contractors. We didn’t want to sue the hotel and lose our business. So my husband Bob has kept things going, despite my years of therapy. I have done what I could, yet my capacity to stand, bend, and climb on ladders is not good at the moment. God will heal me – in his time, not mine. (see GOD HEALS)

Yet this past year God has provided in a way we never could have ourselves. We bought a house. We bought a car after the old one got totaled by a deer. (See DIVINE PROTECTION IN EVERYDAY LIFE) We were blessed with a new computer (thanks Dad!) after Bob had to borrow the Pastor’s laptop (thanks Jeff!) to do some work. Our old laptop battery would not last long enough to do a site survey. Bob had to disassemble my recording computer and use that hard drive in the Pastor’s laptop so this new software wouldn’t crash. Use what you got right?

We have had numerous jobs where we have installed a new printer and were asked by the buyer to dispose of the old printer. We have been using these old printers faithfully for the last few years.

This past month things were so tight we could not even buy a new printer cartridge. So what did Bob do? He took his soldering iron, burned a hole in the old printer cartridge and refilled it himself with all the old toners we had. Yes, it was messy. Yes, he was covered in toner. And he used metal tape to close the hole. And it worked, thank you Jesus!

Anyway, Bob has been working for the last 10 days straight. And today he was supposed to take off. But God had other plans – plans for provision. We get work day by day from different National Buyers, so we never know for sure where, when, or how much.

The phone went off. It was a printer job. And they wanted you to dispose of the old printer. Some fancy furniture store. They just bought a new one. God bless him, he went. And guess what he brought home?

A COLOR LASER JET PRINTER WITH SCANNER with extra toners – let me be more specific to share with you how Good God is…this printer retails for $2000. And the ink cartridges they gave him to throw out retail at over $1400. Yep. we had $3.00 in the checking account this morning. And God blessed us with the tools that we need for our business worth over $3400!!!!

Don’t give up.

Your miracle is on it’s way.

God has more than enough – He owns it all and He wants to bless his kids.

I think I’ll just say, “Thank you Jesus!”, and let Him!

Thanks Daddy God!

GOD’S WORD FOR YOU:

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” (Genesis 22:13-14 NIV)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”(Matthew 7:9-12 NIV)

I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:13-14 NIV)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for your Divine Provision. Thank you for your grace and abundant mercy. Thank you for this abundant life. Forgive us for doubting You. You are faithful, You are awesome, and thanks for the new attitude, the new stuff, and the new life, in Jesus Name.

A Screwdriver and a Pen

God will give you what you need, when you need it.  I have a funny story to share with you.  My husband Bob and I have our own IT Business, InnovativeTeks.  For the last two years, since my leg broke, he has been the one driving all around doing all these jobs for different businesses while I have been in PT and recovery mode.  What a man of God.  He trusts God to provide work each and every day and is flexible enough to not lose it when things change.

So, yesterday was Monday – yeah a real Monday.  He had 3 jobs over towards Milwaukee – which is over an hour from our little country home.  We have a Toyota Camry for our work car, and he has a fold up ladder and his tools in the trunk – usually.  But remember, this was Monday.  The day before, because we play together at church, he had taken out his tools and the ladder and put them in our shed to fit the guitar and music bag, and of course the kids.  (No we didn’t put them in the trunk!)

Anyway, he gets to Milwaukee and sends me this picture:  His text says, “Oh boy, weeeee…”.  This is a $15,000 Server that has been down with 16 Hard Drives inside.  My response, “May God give you favor!”.  Then he goes to the trunk –  no tools. Great. God speaks to his heart, “Everything you need is already here.”

So Bob digs in the trunk and finds a screwdriver and a pen.  And goes into this big business, who shall remain unnamed, with a screwdriver and a pen.  After talking to the Manager he finds out the device has been down for over a month.  It was new and it has never worked.  They have had multiple people there who make well over $100,000/year trying to fix it.  So Bob prays, “Lord, show me.”  The system did not see all the hard drives – even though they were already there.

Long story short, God gave him wisdom.  It was a script error.  There was nothing wrong with the motherboard or the computer. It had everything it needed, but the script did not “see” all the hard drives.  Bob did what he does with God’s wisdom, and changed the script.  And he fixed it – with a screwdriver and a pen!

It makes me wonder – We already have the Holy Spirit – the power of God inside of us.

How many of us have hidden hard drives?

The script for our lives has been rewritten with the Blood of Jesus.

Everything we already need is in us.

Let’s stop running the old script – we are restored – by the Blood of Jesus – all it took was a screwdriver and a pen!

Prayer Request and Music Opportunity for You by Peter Olach

Yep.  I am calling all Singers. Do you need a music track? Are you looking for a Composer? Someone who will treat your music with the love and respect it deserves? Today I am promoting one of my friends from Broadjam, Peter Olach.  He is an accomplished musician and composer with many more gifts.  And he is a friend in need.  I was bragging on all of you this weekend.  Yep, I told him I have met the most wonderful community of compassionate and caring people here at WordPress.  I would not be where I am today without all of your encouraging words, blogs, comments, and conversations.

Peter has begun his own media company called PGO Media Services. He also makes videos with music if you are looking for a special gift or remembrance video.  Here is one he did for Diane McAdam called “Hold On”

PGO Media Services is offering fully produced and mastered song beds for lyricists, singers and songwriters. The first offering includes a baker’s dozen collection of fully mastered contemporary Country song beds. Our Competitive Pricing begins @ $200. And, if you’re looking for a vocalist to complete your song, we can help you locate the perfect male or female vocalist.

And here is why Peter needs our help today.  I asked him to share a few words about his struggle.  We all have struggles.  We all need each other.

There are angels amongst us. You can find them washing dishes and folding laundry while tending to a family meal. They might be volunteers at the local soup kitchen or a teacher’s aide at your local school. Perhaps they sing in the choir or teach a Bible class before Sunday Service. Most important, and no matter the distance or time, they are your neighbor, your friend, family member, possibly mentor and quite often a caregiver. And, they do all this to the best of their ability and life’s station, with little fail.

WHY? Because it is their God Given Nature. A living gift from Him to us. They are the earth-bound angels who are given the desire to reach out and remind us: Help is there when we truly need; but only if we ask and are willing to seek that Blessing.

My challenge is not unlike yours and thousands of others. Yet my dear friend and earthly neighbor (perhaps angel), Diana, responded with honest concern, kindness and a suggestion for healing, “share a story or what you feel comfortable sharing about your struggle.”

Diana I am not comfortable with reaching out like this yet I do struggle. I, like too many, struggle with just the basic needs for health and shelter. My calamity is so small in comparison to so many others. I am seeking to raise $2000 in the next few weeks to normalize my life, to pay what I owe for services provided by others. And, to post a small surplus of $500 savings against “future surprises” whether health or finance.

To that end I am selling my work assets. Studio microphones and one mastering headset have already been sold and applied. I will post my guitar on Ebay and Craigslist this coming morning to further the cause. I have some memorabilia that a friend will photograph so I can add that to the generation of dollars.

I do this because I have a hiatal hernia combined with acid reflux and gastritis. On the upside; no, I am not dying, (at least not anytime soon.) The endoscopy procedure and biopsy sample showed that in due time I will continue to heal. No cancer, no ulcers, nor infections. God made me a tough old bird.

Downside – the meds, (while they work their prescribed miracles) make proximity to the bathroom an absolute must. So far, no employer wants to grant me bathroom breaks every 15 to 30 minutes. And, music continues to be my trusty companion. With 40 years of love and experience as my guide, I recently produced a series of music beds for singer/songwriters to make their own. The project is called PGO Media Services. So, far I have sold three song beds including mixing and “final” mastering services. Diana has offered to embed a link that might afford you a listen to the remaining twelve music beds in this series.

I welcome your comments and participation. In closing, I am reminded of a secular appraisal of where musicians fit in the “Plan”. From the work of Kahil Gibran, this one explanation has always warmed my heart.

“God respects me when I work. And, He loves me when I sing.”

God Bless and thank you, Diana, for allowing me to express myself.

God is Not a Deadbeat Dad

God is NOT a deadbeat dad. With over 50% of marriages ending in divorce these days there is a lot of child support being collected – or not. I am one of those statistics. I have four kids from two different dads. With the first two I paid child support – for 16 years. Every dime. I even paid after the youngest turned 19 to get caught up.

And then I had two more kids with another dad. And I have placement this time? So he has been court ordered to pay for the last 9 years. But he hasn’t. So, back to court we go for the umpteenth time. He’s working, has new house, car, etc. yet he refuses to pay his support.

I wrote about this last year in

MY EVERYDAY LIFE PLUS COURT

http://www.dianarasmussen.com/my-everyday-life-plus-court/

I am sure I am not the only one in this boat. And I got to thinking about God. He’s not a deadbeat Dad. He provides more than enough in every story. Remember Joseph? Remember Esther? Remember Abraham? God always made a way where there was no way. He owns it all. And He is the Father that is never behind on his child support – because He never divorces us!

And I have to brag on God. The Lord has provided for me and the kids. We have always had a home, a bed, a car, and a job. God is faithful. He provides, especially for the widows and orphans, and the fatherless. And God restores. I had pretty much given up on love and marriage after that last divorce. I took a year off from seeing anyone. And just when I had given up hope God brought me a man he had chosen – Bob. Bob and I have been together 7 years now. I believe in love, I have seen it. And thanks to him, so have my children.

“For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.”
(Isaiah 54:5 NKJV)

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Will bring her into the wilderness,
And speak comfort to her.

I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope;
She shall sing there,
As in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

“And it shall be, in that day,”
Says the Lord,
“That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’
And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’

Hosea 2:15I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me
In righteousness and justice,
In lovingkindness and mercy;
I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,
And you shall know the Lord.”

(Hosea 2:14-16, 19-20 NKJV)
