We have this great banner at church that says
P.U.S.H. – Pray Until Something Happens
I certainly appreciate your prayers this month. I am grateful for brothers and sisters who know how to pray. There are times when we can stand together and petition Heaven with our prayers. God is faithful, He hears, He listens, and He answers. His timing is not always our timing. And His ways are not our ways. Like so many of you, I am trusting Him, leaning on Him, depending on Him in those places where I cannot see. Thank you for your prayers, I am praying for you too!
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.(John 14:14 NKJV)
QUOTES ABOUT PRAYER
Pray without ceasing. ― 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.” ― Mother Teresa
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ― Philippians 4:6
“Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him.” ― Gordon B. Hinckley, Standing for Something: 10 Neglected Virtues That Will Heal Our Hearts and Homes
“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” ― Mahatma Gandhi
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. ― Luke 11:9
“I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.” ― Abraham Lincoln
“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one” ― Bruce Lee
“The more you pray, the less you’ll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry. You’ll feel more patient and less pressured.” ― Rick Warren, The Purpose of Christmas
“May God break my heart so completely that the whole world falls in.” ― Mother Teresa
“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” ― Francis of Assisi
BROTHER
By NEED TO BREATHE
Ramblers in the wilderness we can’t find what we need
Get a little restless from the searching
Get a little worn down in between
Like a bull chasing the matador is the man left to his own schemes
Everybody needs someone beside em’ shining like a lighthouse from the sea
Brother let me be your shelter
I’ll never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Face down in the desert now there’s a cage locked around my heart
I found a way to drop the keys where my failures were
Now my hands can’t reach that far
I ain’t made for a robbery I could never take the world alone
I know that in my weakness I am stronger
It’s your love that brings me home
Brother let me be your shelter
I’ll never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Brother let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Brother let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re feeling low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Brother let me be your shelter
Never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Brother let me be your shelter
Brother let me be your shelter
Brother let me be your shelter
Brother let me be your shelter
Brother let me be your shelter

That’s right. Surely; God wants us o live our godly nature more than to give us. When we are seeking him and do not get, we are sure He is changing us so that we come to a point we can live our true nature ( children of God) and then receive, not as a gift from God but receive our heritage as children.
Thanks for your post
We need to pray even when things don’t happen – through the wilderness, because that seems to be when God is working on us from the inside out. For me, at least, it’s when the biggest transformation happens; the times when I grasp onto God because there is nothing else to hold onto.
Yes Susan, I am so there…thank you!
