Some days I need to remind myself that no matter what I see with my eyes, or hear with my ears – God is greater.
It has been a battle in my world this past 2 weeks. There were many that shouted or screamed or accused, with rocks, sticks, swords etc. Lots of confusion, anger, and even lies too. There were times I had to keep quiet, and other times I had to stand my ground and say NO! I am still ‘dressing the wounds’ from the battle. I even took a post down as it offended someone who mattered to me.
So much for the comfort zone – we are going to new ground here. I know that God is teaching me how to STAND. You know, that ‘love good and hate evil’ thing. And what to believe in. I am still being quiet and listening. Rather a different approach for me – I have been likened to a ‘bulldozer’ at times!
And I am learning to trust God with the outcome – I think that’s my lesson. Choose your battles Ms D – and watch for fruit – both good or bad – before opening your mouth! Stand up for what is right – and oppose what is wrong. There are times to fight and times to sit down. Still learning here…
What about you?
How do you respond to pressure?
Who do you look to for hope?
Here are the Words I am holding onto this week:
You shall not fear them, for the Lord your God shall fight for you. (Deut 3:22 AMP)
*
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
Behold, all they who are enraged and inflamed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; they who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.
You shall seek those who contend with you but shall not find them; they who war against you shall be as nothing, as nothing at all.
For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!
(Isaiah 41:10-13 AMP)
*
The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.
Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place. (Psalm 23: 1-6 AMP)
*
And my Prayer – God, I don’t get it – you do – Show me when to stand and fight and when to shut up!
Yeah – short, sweet, and to the point!

Love the message sissy!

Diana, love the look of your Blog 🙂 Clean but warm and welcoming. I know more than I’d like to about the refiner’s fire and carrying hope no one else sees. I have ALS and my life has drastically changed: as a wife, mom and in women’s ministry. But I still have a dream and a hope to shake the heavens with His love for me. My battle is often hourly, but I chose His right Hand. Thank you for writing, you have a new follower! twe
Thank you Tracey, I am following you as well! God bless you my sister. 😉
This is a great reminder and something that I think God has been working on teaching me as well- finding the balance between being helpful, and simply, a resounding gong that is heard but does little more than make noise. I think that those who want the truth and are in need of encouragement are the ones we should be writing for though- you can’t allow the responses of others to control who you are and how you behave..ya know?
I feel like we should “simply” (I know..but seriously- living with selfless love- grace and compassion- simple enough, right?), live like Jesus did, and *respond* to those who don’t take what we say very well…we don’t react, or change our behavior, but we can respond…combine that directive with the idea of bearing with and submitting to one another and I think God’ll help you find a good balance somewhere there in the middle…does that make sense? it’s a process I’m going through too- finding that balance 🙂
Thank you Josh, I love your wisdom on the difference between “react” and “respond”. Blessings to you!
Great post! I love the Scriptures you chose. I came away this weekend to get a word from the Lord. His was short and sweet, too:
QUIT STRIVING! Psalm 36. You know the verse, “Be still and know that I am God.” The “be still” bit, per Strong’s Concordance & Lexicon means: “quit striving, relax, let go.” Got it! For the rest of the trip, I’ve been just “kicking it”…not trying to do anything that has purpose or meaning, just relax. It’s been nice.
Oh, and I got to meet Elizabeth from His Eye is on the Sparrow face-to-face. Her hubby, too. What a fantastic couple. We talked for hours (closed two restaurants!). It’s been nice to do nothing.
Thanks for the link back to my blog 😉

That is awesome Tami! Nothing like a face-to-face!
He had a great word for me…
“Quit striving!”
Ha!

I think this is a great post and I encourage all to place on there full armor of God every morning before they walk out the door. I think you are wise to depend on God and not your own understanding, all battles are won on bended knees. Continue asking for the Lord’s direction and He will never fail you. Praise God.
Amen, thank you brother!

So good and so very true!
Call all your angels to life you up and pass over the obstacles.
Sometimes the biggest obstacle is the passivity of others
Yeah – or the opposite “in your face” stuff too. We as people are so extreme sometimes. I’d like to make it my ambition to lead a quiet life. I am not into Drama these days, must be cuz I’m getting older. Thanks Carl 😉
