Finding Shelter

image When you think of the word “shelter” what comes to your mind?  Sometimes when I am sleeping God will put a word in my head . Last night it was the word “shelter”. Throughout the day I started wondering…what kind of shelter?  There are alot of shelters out there…

homeless shelter – been there

animal shelter – been there too

emergency shelter – nope, haven’t been there yet

house/home/tent/car/rv – yep, I’m there now, thank God, it’s coldin Wisconsin tonight!

Usually when I get a word in my spirit like that, I search it out in the bible.  Yep, I really do that, that’s how I get alot of lyrics for my songs.  God says He’s my shelter. Hmmmmm, how does that work?  Then I remembered…

I remember a fight with my ex (well ok, more than one fight), he was screaming and in my face.  I silently prayed and asked God to protect and shelter me.  Then, it’s as if a wall of mirrors surrounded me.  He was still screaming but his ugly words couldn’t get through.  Everything he said got reflected back to him.  Well guess what, he stopped screaming! I was in God’s shelter that day, and my spirit was strangely calm in the midst of the chaos.

Has that ever happened to you?

GOD’S PROMISE TO YOU:

PSALM 91

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,  my God, in whom I trust.”

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord, I ask you to step into the life of whomever is reading this post.  Let them come to know you as their Protection.  Shield them from any ugly, hurtful words that come from others.  Fill them with your Spirit of Truth so that they may know that these hurtful words are NOT TRUE.  Let these hurtful words fall to the ground like dust, in Jesus’ name.
