I got a great life lesson this week. My gas gauge broke in my truck. The first day i ran over a curb with my back right tire it shook something loose. Now that morning I had put in $20. I did my errands and was on my way to music practice. I glanced at my gas gauge and started to panic – it was below E. All these thoughts started running through my head.
” Am I leaking gas?”
“Did I not put in enough gas?”
“Wtf?”
“Is this thing going to start on fire?”
So I stopped and put in another $10. As I drove it, it still registered below E. Last week we had torrential rains and I know it got soaked. After music practice the gauge worked again and it showed 1/2 tank. Whew! I thought it was fixed. But now over the last few days it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. My husband looked up how to fix it – we have to take the bed off the truck and put in some new parts. The lesson I learned?
Just because it looks empty doesn’t mean it is!
This is true with our lives as well. Just when things look the darkest God shows up to show Himself strong. Right when we are at the end of our rope He gently pulls us down and catches us. Just because you don’t see your miracle yet, don’t give up! The Lord of the Universe is on your side and working all things together for your good. He is a Good, Good Father and He loves you. He will make a way where there seems to be no way – that’s who He is!
Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin
I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think You’re like
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
You tell me that you’re pleased and that I’m never alone
You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
I’ve seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we’re all searching for answers only You provide
Because You know just what we need before we say a word
You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us
Love so undeniable I can hardly speak
Peace so un-explainable I can hardly think
As you call me deeper still
As you call me deeper still
As you call me deeper still
Into love, love, love.
You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
You’re a good, good Father
It’s who You are, it’s who You are, it’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am
(repeat)
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
So true. Words of wisdom. What we see in the natural is not how God sees it. Awesome song too. Love it. God bless you, my sister!
