Pandora Opens the Door to Indie Artists

Great news if you are a musician these days – Pandora is accepting submissions from Indie Artists!

Here is the article from BusinessWire

The new system, accessible online at submit.pandora.com, is a simple, digital, three-step process to submit tracks for consideration. No physical CD is required – just basic contact info with links to preview tracks.

Pandora Founder Tim Westergren said, “Discovery is at the core of Pandora’s mission. Our goal is to give every talented artist a chance to reach their audience, whatever the genre and without regard to popularity. Anything we can do to encourage submissions from talented new and emerging artists is a top priority.”

Here is more from Gigaom

More underground artists have the opportunity to take advantage of Pandora: The company announced Thursday that it will open its submission process to independent and self-releasing artists.

Previously, artists on Pandora needed a CD available on hard copy with a UPC on Amazon. Now musicians who have submitted their work digitally through iTunes, Amazon/MP3, CD Baby or Bandcamp (see disclosure) can submit their music directly to Pandora, where the company will listen to every single.

As an Indie Artist myself, getting your music ‘out there’ has been a challenge.  I have accounts on Broadjam, SoundCloud, ReverbNation, BandPage, BandCamp, CD Baby, and more.  It’s quite the undertaking. Yet, this is great news for those of us who are unsigned. Hallelujah!

Here is my latest endeavor – an Acoustic version of SNOW WHITE DARKNESS.  I did this to go along with my new book release.

SNOW WHITE DARKNESS

© 2013 Diana Rasmussen

She looks in the mirror, seems vaguely familiar

like steam on the glass, shame covers her past

the fog slithers down, as evil surrounds

His worst fantasy, her reality

he pulls the strings, does unspeakable things

a sadistic entrance, for his acceptance

Smothered by control, a tormented soul

trapped in his castle

Her tears rolling mist, proof she  exists

in snow white darkness

Clouds of confusion, rolled into illusion

He veils perversion, forcing her coercion

her body he takes, while she flies away

unbelievable, she’s invisible

love is the shadow, that darkens her window

she’s crying for help, to escape her hell

Smothered by control, a tormented soul

trapped in his castle

Her tears rolling mist, proof she  exists

in snow white darkness

she hides in the fog, drinks hair of the dog

hates her behavior, craves one to save her

Smothered by control, a tormented soul

trapped in his castle

Her tears rolling mist, proof she  exists

in Snow White Darkness

  1. THANK YOU, MS. D!
LET ME CHECK INTO IT. I SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE TODAY,
BUT I’M FIGHTING OFF BRONCHITIS. POST 09/11 IF I CATCH A COLD IT TURNS TO BRONCHITIS OR PNEUMONIA VERY QUICKLY. AS OF LAST YEAR, I WOULD GET
BRONCHITIS ONCE A QUARTER (JUST LIKE FINANCIAL REPORTS FOR ANY BUSINESS GEEKS OUT THERE—LIKE MOST OF MY FAMILY :)).
BUT I DIDN’T GET MY DECEMBER/JANUARY ONE AND SO I’M ASKING YOU TO PRAY THAT THIS COLD GETS OUT, BEFORE DOING ANY BRONCHIAL DAMAGE, SETS IN TOO.

    THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION!!!!!!
