He is Worthy – Word from the Lord

Here is the Word that was shared with our congregation from the Lord. This one really hit me. You see, ever since I came to church I have been learning all sorts of things that focused on how to make me ‘good enough’ for God. You know – you gotta ‘get right with God – right?’ I have heard that I needed to wear certain things, do things, don’t do things, you know. Yeah. Been there, done that?  And I spend ALL my time focusing on ME and what I should and shouldn’t do to be the ‘Good Little Christian’ girl. I tried following the ‘law of men’ and it was not freedom at all. It was church bondage.

Can I tell you that didn’t work? All that happened was that I got more frustrated and angry. I could never do or be good enough. I came to church looking for healing and found out that I waseven more screwed up than you thought.  Yeah – that’s what the Pastor said as he laughed in my face.  I didn’t read my bible enough, I didn’t go to every church function, I didn’t pray enough, I didn’t say the right thing. I didn’t do the right thing. And (oh no – the biggie) I colored my hair and wore makeup and jewelry, and I even smoked and drank. I was already going through a divorce. My kids wouldn’t go to church with me because all of a sudden mom told them they had to change their clothes too and not do this, and not do that – or God wouldn’t like them. Yeah, really. But I came to church, I sought counseling and I was honest about it. I wanted to change, I just didn’t know how.

Eventually, after getting ‘sat down’ from playing music  for the third time because I didn’t follow the little rules – I quit. And there was an accusation that I had a relationship with someone. Oh no – really – after a year of not dating? I was confronted and shamed. Yes, I did finally see someone after a year. (You little sinner you – yeah, guess so.) That’s kinda why I was there right? I already knew that. But there are always those who point fingers and accuse isn’t there?  That was not love. That was rocks.  I walked away. I couldn’t do it anymore.  My kids wouldn’t go to church with me because all of a sudden mom told them they had to change their clothes too and do this/don’t do that- or God wouldn’t like them. Yeah, really. So I walked out – of bondage – and into freedom.

That’s when things changed. God says “All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.” Yep – me too.

And I could focus my life on what I am doing wrong

or

I could focus my life on what God is doing right.

It really is true – you become what you look at.  If I look at Jesus – I reflect Him. If I look at me and my shortcomings or others and their shortcomings – I reflect that.

Here is the WORD that was released at our church 2 weeks ago – it’s what touched my heart and helped me to refocus. No selfies here – I just want to look at Him.  This Word from the Lord reminded me that it not about how worthy I am – it’s all about how worthy He is! Man, I have so much more to learn – thank you Lord – for your love and leading. I am glad that the Lord continues to share His Word and His Truth with us.

I am for you RAISED
I am the Lord Your God

Surprise Me Daddy

Have you ever gotten a surprise? Totally unexpected and out of the blue knock your sock off kind of surprise? I have had this happen to me in the natural, with my natural dad and father-in-law and also in the Spiritual realm with my Heavenly Father. Just as our natural fathers love us and want to provide good things for us, so does our Heavenly Father.

The other day I was asking God for wisdom in the job arena. You see my husbands IT business has flourished and he is now able to hire other contractors to help him. Praise God! But as for me, I have not been back to the 9-5 workplace since I broke my leg 2 1/2 years ago. I tried a part-time job at the grocery store for about 8 months, but unfortunately that only sent me back to Physical Therapy.

So, I have entered this season of choosing to trust God and His Promises despite what I see. And I am learning to trust my husband. That’s a hard one for a girl who has been abused. I have been a Lone Ranger for so many years and have had to start over with my kids, work 3 jobs to make it, no child support, etc. for years. I hated men for a long time. And I have to confess, I blamed God for it and didn’t like Him either for a while.

But then, just when you ‘think’ you have it all figured out, Daddy God surprises you! Yep, every time. He is faithful, even though others may not have been. He is true, even though other may have lied. He provides, even when things don’t go as planned and you get deserted. And His love is real, even though we may have been deceived at one time.

God surprised me with a rainbow the other day. Remember the story of Noah and how afterwards God put the bow in the sky as a token and covenant that He would not destroy the Earth with floods again? I was driving home from dropping off my daughter at a friend’s house and looked up in the sky.

God spoke to my heart,

“My covenant and promise with you is greater than any destruction you have been through.”

And then I saw the rainbow start in the sky and come down to the ground!  Really, it was so totally cool!  I pulled over to take pictures. I knew that one was for me. What a surprise, thank you Daddy God. Yes, I believe your promises.  And You are greater and You remember us!

Then God spoke to Noah and his sons: “I’m setting up my covenant with you including your children who will come after you, along with everything alive around you—birds, farm animals, wild animals—that came out of the ship with you. I’m setting up my covenant with you that never again will everything living be destroyed by floodwaters; no, never again will a flood destroy the Earth.”

God continued, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.”

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I’ve set up between me and everything living on the Earth.” (Genesis 9: 8-17 MSG)

Giving Birth to New Things

Hallelujah! It’s baby time. Time for birthing new things!  Yes, carrying this ‘baby’ was hard, and long – but wait until you see what comes!  Yes, it was labor. Yes it was hard. But get ready for your new ‘baby”!

Remember finally delivering?

Remember that first cry?

And holding your baby for the first time?

New things are coming to the Kingdom – through the praises and dances of our children.

Get ready church, I have shivers just writing about it!

Your sons and daughters shall return as God turns their hearts back to the fathers.

And their song shall release Heaven on Earth!
