ALTAR OF LOVE

by Downhere

Lay down your weapons
Lay down your violence
Lay down rebellion
Your heart of defiance

Love will ask of you more than truces
If you’re willing to lose
Blessing far outweighs the loss when you lay it all
On the Altar of Love

Lay down your idols
Lay down your possessions
Lay down your shrines and
Your worldly obsessions

Love will ask of you more than treasure
When you’re willing to trust
Blessing far outweighs the loss when you lay it all
You lay it all on the Altar of Love

In the holiest room
Where the curtain was torn
By the ultimate wound

Oh, the Altar of Love
Where the glory resides
For the Father and Son
And the Spirit invite

Oh, the Altar of Love
To its form we are blind
But you know when it’s there
Like the sun through shut eyes

Oh, the Altar of Love
Yes, you come here to die
But you know that it’s good
Cuz you come out alive

Love will ask of you more than you can give
When you’re willing to live
Blessing far outweighs the loss when you lay it all
On the Altar of Love

GOD’S PROMISE TO YOU:

This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you. No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends. You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do. (John 15:12-14)

*

Set me like a seal upon your heart, like a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, jealousy is as hard and cruel as Sheol (the place of the dead). Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame [the very flame of the Lord]! (Song of Solomon 8:6 AMP)

*

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. (Galatians 6:9 AMP)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,
Forgive us for clinging to worldly things. What we see is temporary, what we do not see is eternal. Today, we lay down our burdens, our troubles, our dreams, our desires – everything we are, and everything we are not –  at Your Altar of Love. Today, we choose You, in Jesus Name.

Love Won!

Christ Crucified

For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.

(1 Corinthians 1:18 AMP)

The first writing exercise was this: “take some … Read more

Agony in the Garden

Gethsemane – what does that mean? Gethsemane is a corruption into English of two Hebrew words GAT and SHMANIM. It is taken to mean “the place where olive oil is pressed”. Now, here is a further insight into the Hebrew words GAT and SHMANIM. GAT, as a Hebrew word by itself (Hebrew: gimel, tav), means a … Read more

Have Mercy on us Lord

The Tomb is Empty!

Christianity-unlike-any
He is not here; He has risen, as He said [He would do]. Come, see the place where He lay.
Then go quickly and tell His disciples, He has risen from the dead, and behold, He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.  (Matthew 28:6-7)

And he said to them, Do not be amazed and terrified; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. (Mark 16:6)

He is not here, but has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee. (Luke 24:6)

REMEMBER WHEN

© 2012 Diana Rasmussen

VERSE 1

Lord I remember when You came to earth,
such a humble birth.
You turned water into wine,
made us fishers of men.

Lord I remember when You turned the tables,
and brought the Truth to men,
The day the lame man walked, and all your signs.

Lord I remember when you found lost sheep,
and taught us about seeds,
The night in the garden, when You taught us how to pray.

CHORUS

Your perfect sinless offering, at the cross of Calvary,
All to provide a sacrifice, for the fall of man.
Your blood brought forgiveness, grace and mercy poured out,
Man was restored to Gods favor.
But mostly I remember, the Love in Your Eyes.
Lord I remember You.

VERSE 2

Lord, I remember the day You died,
and the veil was torn.
You drank the cup of fury, that was meant for me.

Lord, I remember, the empty grave,
And the day You rose again.
Your resurrection victory, over death, Devil, and the grave.
