Here’s the math. According to the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Crime Victimization Survey –there is an average of 207,754 victims (age 12 or older) of rape and sexual assault each year.

Yes, you probably know someone who was raped…but she may not have told about out it.  We survivors are often reluctant to talk about it.   We think that it will go away someday…denial is often a coping mechanism.  But when we bury the pain, it only festers, and comes out in other ways.  For me, it was bad relationship choices.  I was unconciously playing the “victim”, and as a result, I chose abusive men for partners.  Not a healthy way to deal with things, that’s for sure.

From my experience, it took over twenty years for me to seek healing.  I pray that if you have been raped, you would seek help sooner.  I know that God put people in my path that I could trust to tell them the truth.  There is healing in sharing our pain, and there is freedom.   And yes, Jesus, can heal the hurt and restore your heart and mind.

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,

I ask you to step into each of these women’s lives, reveal your healing presence.  You saw what happened, you know that it was not their fault, and they did not ask for it.  Lord, let them come to trust you, and put someone in their lives that they can talk to, and share the truth.  You have promised to give us life, and life more abundantly.  I pray that you would restore their hearts, minds, hopes, and dreams as only You can.  Bring them new life Lord,  in Jesus name.
