Free Indeed

Freedom – comes with a price.  It’s not really free.  It costs our military their lives sometimes, it cost Jesus his life.  And my freedom, cost me a marriage 9or two).  There were many posts I was not sure if I should write.  It may have been easier to keep my mouth shut.  Leave the secrets behind closed doors.  But that would not have helped me heal, nor been of any use to anyone else going through the same situation.  So, we write to heal, to release the pain, and be free!

Here are a few of my posts that share what it was like. And, as those of you who know me, I sing about it too (under Diana’s Music tab).  My lyrics tell my story as only a song can.

WHY DOESN’T SHE JUST LEAVE

I can’t tell you how many times people have said this to me when I was trying to get out of an abusive marriage.

DO YOU HEAR THE CHILDREN CRYING

This one was especially hard – I released the artwork that my children had drawn with the counselor while we were at the Domestic Violence Shelter for the last time.  It was really ‘the straw that broke the camels back’ for me – I never went back after seeing these pictures.

RESCUED AND CHANGED

This one ‘spills the beans’, it really made me look at who I used to be. And I confessed to many things I used to do.  Kind of hard to just put it out there – but it’s the truth.
