Discovering Biblical Freedom: 14 Verses to Reflect On

With the fourth of July happening this weekend I wanted to look and see what God says about freedom. Here is what I found:

14 Bible Verses on Freedom

  1. Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. – Galatians 5:1
  2. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. – 2 Corinthians 3:17
  3. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. – Romans 8:1-2
  4. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. – John 8:36
  5. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:31-32
  6. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land. – Psalm 68:6
  7. For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. – Galatians 5:13
  8. Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. – Acts 13:38-39
  9. All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. – 1 Corinthians 6:12
  10. And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. – Psalm 119:45
  11. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound. – Isaiah 61:1
  12. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. – Psalm 34:19
  13. As free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. – 1 Peter 2:16
  14.  You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” – Galatians 5:13-14

I pray you had a wonderful weekend. Here is our SOAK set from Friday Night, July 4th, when we shared what God has said, along with praise and worship music as well. Yes, that’s me on piano, and my husband Bob on guitar. We also have Sister Carmen and Brother Doug. Thanks for listening!
