Freedom for What? 10 Quotes on What to Do with It

Happy 4th of July my friends! Here in America we are celebrating our FREEDOM. But what are we using our Freedom for? That is what I am pondering today.

According to the Dictionary

FREEDOM is

  • the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

  • absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.

  • the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

Here is America we can and do whatever we want for the most part. There are many cultures who are not so spoiled. Many that do not have the freedoms and liberty to make a choice. There are still many oppressed in our world. Lord, use us to bring freedom to them as well.

10 Quotes on What to Do with Freedom:

  1. So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free. (John 8:36 AMP)

  2. [Rather] is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke? (Isaiah 58:6 AMP)

  3. In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off]. (Galatians 5:1 AMP)

  4. I am the Lord your God, Who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should no more be slaves; and I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect [as freemen]. (Leviticus 26:13 AMP)

  5. Out of my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free and in a large place. (Psalm 118:5 AMP)

  6. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good Spirit lead me into a level country and into the land of uprightness.

  7.  Save my life, O Lord, for Your name’s sake; in Your righteousness, bring my life out of trouble and free me from distress.

  8.  And in your mercy and loving-kindness, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my inner self, for I am Your servant. (Psalm 143:10-12 AMP)

  9. Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy [that is, readiness to help those in trouble] and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims. For I came not to call and invite [to repentance] the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin). (Matthew 9:13 AMP)

  10. Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give. (Matthew 10:8 AMP)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU:

Dear Lord,

Let us remember the price that you and our soldiers paid for FREEDOM. It cost blood. Help us to honor those who serve or have served our Country and to remember those who have fallen giving their lives to protect our lives, liberty, and our pursuit of happiness. Guide us with your Holy Spirit to use this freedom for your glory, in Jesus Name.
