There is a Treasure in You

Yesterday afternoon, I was sitting in my favorite chair, reading some of your awesome blogs, when the Spirit of the Lord came upon me.  Perhaps you know what this feels like. All of a sudden you are transported somewhere else when you yield to God. Your body may be here, but the rest of you is somewhere else. For me, this is when God shows me secret things and reveals mysteries.

God showed me that I was looking in the wrong places for Him. He was not playing hide and seek with me.  He desired that I find Him.  He wants to spend time together.  He told me to “look within, for the treasure is buried there.”  He put it there, and was waiting for me to uncover it. Treasure, in me? in you?  Ok….tell me more…

As a believer in Christ, I received the gift of the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit. It is Jesus living inside of me – and you.  I know, hard to believe, that God would want to live in this body, but He does.  And I was looking for Him in outside places.

God put His inheritance IN us.  His treasure is inside of us – Christ Jesus, our hope of glory.  And that is why people have tried to destroy us.

He asked me to look beyond the scars.  Look at the power on the inside, not the outside.  The same power that rose Christ from the dead is planted inside of us.

We are accepted on the inside – in Christ.  Our lives are hidden with Christ in God.  I need to stop looking for approval from the outside.  I am already approved – on the inside.  I needed to close my eyes to the outside – and become ‘blind’ to really see.

There is a treasure in you too, if you have Christ in you.  Let us look at Him, our treasure, on the inside.

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. (Romans 8:11 NLT)

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;  nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21 NKJV)

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,  in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:11-14 NIV)

Dear Lord,

Thank you for giving us vision today.  Let us look upon You and gaze at You today, our treasure. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit.  Thank you for planting Your seed in us.  It is so awesome to watch it grow!   Let us look upon Your power today, in us, in Jesus Name.
