Renew Your Strength Through Stillness

From: http://www.ibegat.com/tag/isaiah-669/

I am learning to be still and listen to God. I close my eyes and calm my spirit and wait. Why? Because God promises that He will renew my strength:

“But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

Yes Lord, Yes. I can meet Him in the quiet places of my heart and pray. I have a lot of people to pray for; my husband, my family, my friends, my fellow bloggers (yes, you!), my church family, my city, our country, the world – all to know Jesus. Lord, help us all. I ask the Lord to refresh and renew us all. It’s hard living in this world, And the Golden Years – yeah right! I don’t know about you, but my body could sure use some refreshing! I looked up the definition of Refresh:

Refresh – give new strength or energy to; reinvigorate. to restore strength and animation to : REVIVE : to freshen up : RENOVATE : to restore or maintain by renewing supply : REPLENISH

God’s Word for You

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” – Proverbs 11:25

“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert. –  Isaiah 43:18-19

“Repent . . . that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” – Acts 3:19–20

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:30-31 (NIV)

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2 (NIV)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts… be thankful… Let the message of Christ dwell among your richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit…” – Colossians 3:15-16 (NIV)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10 (NIV)

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!” – Lamentations 3:22-24

Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. – 2 Corinthians 5:16-19

The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zephaniah 3:17
