Well, it’s that time of year again. April is National Poetry Month. NaPoWriMo 2014 has begun! Why not join the fun? Head over to:

I did this last year and had a blast. This year I think I’ll pick a verse a day, and write something along those lines. Some may even be song lyrics I am working on, like this one, It’s Raining Diamonds. Always great to get new ideas flowing!

From Wikipedia:

National Poetry Writing Month (also known as NaPoWriMo) is a creative writing project held annually in April in which participants attempt to write a poem each day for one month. NaPoWriMo coincides with the National Poetry Month in the United States of America and Canada.

IT’S RAINING DIAMONDS

Copyright 2014 Diana Rasmussen

When I’m frozen with fear
Anxious about this life
Or just tired, worn out
From the fighting and strife

Justice rolls down like waters
Righteousness flows
like an everlasting stream
It’s raining diamonds
It’s raining diamonds

When I’ve fallen too far
Drowning in pools of sorrow
Looking for a light
To get out of the dark

Justice rolls down like waters
Righteousness flows
like an everlasting stream
It’s raining diamonds
It’s raining diamonds

Despite crushing pressure
I’m refined by Your heat

Justice rolls down like waters
Righteousness flows
like an everlasting stream
It’s raining diamonds
It’s raining diamonds
