It It Costs You Your Peace, It’s Too Expensive

Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah or Oh Happy Day my friends! I wish you peace this during this very busy time. We are highly favored and blessed beyond belief in Jesus Name!

I had the wonderful opportunity to go out Christmas shopping this past week. I say ‘opportunity’ because before I left, I had to move my walker out of the way to find my shoes. It was about 4-5 years ago that I had to buy it and use it to get around. Some days my back and legs would work, and some days they wouldn’t. You can read about that here – (What to Do When Life Changes and You End Up Disabled)

Thank you Jesus for your peace and presence during these last years. Thank you that I can go out Christmas shopping this year. Thank you Jesus for the peace that you have given me to be still and know You are God. Thank you Jesus for the peace that You have given me to discern what peace is and how to keep it.

Peace is a funny thing isn’t it? You can’t touch it, you can’t see it, but you know when you have it and when you don’t! I can have peace within myself or in a mall full of people. It can be a personal thing or the feeling of the room you walk into.

According to Google Dictionary, Peace is;

1. Freedom from disturbance; tranquility.

2. a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.

All I know is that if something or someone costs me my peace, it’s too expensive. I want to be a Peacemaker, not the Author of confusion. As I’m nearing 60 these days (how did that happen?) God has given me the wisdom not to attend every argument I am invited to. I don’t have to prove my point. I don’t have to prove that I am right and someone else is wrong. God is the Judge – not me. I am not anyone’s Holy Spirit. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus!

There is freedom in letting go and letting God deal with them. He made them right? I had to learn the hard way that I had to let others in my life be FULLY RESPONSIBLE for the choices they make. I’m not a doormat, and it’s not my job to change them. I don’t have to agree with them, I can keep my peace and keep my mouth shut and let God do what he does…

I wish you peace that surpasses all understanding this Holiday Season! God bless you all my friends - Diana Rasmussen

God’s Word About Peace

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” – Philippians 4:6-7 MSG

“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.” – Matthew 5:9 MSG

“God makes his people strong.
God gives his people peace.” – Psalm 29:11

“Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” – John 16:31-33 MSG

“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.” – John 14:25-27 MSG
