I admit it, sometimes I just get ‘stuck’ in my spiritual walk. I’m standing still, unable to go back to my past to fix something, and unable to see the way to my future. Here’s a great picture that helps me to show you how I feel. Yep, one little sheep standing on the rock, not sure how to go back or forward, just stuck.
Those are the times where I stop and redirect my focus. I will take a moment to remember what God has already done in my life. I thank Him for what is coming next.
I don’t have to fear the future as the Lord is with me. God even goes before us to prepare the way. He knows right where we are. And He will lead us just like a Shepard leads His sheep when it’s time to move.
Remember that one sheep that left the herd and got lost?
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying:
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” – Luke 15:1-7
Jesus left the 99 to find you. Jesus wants you in His flock, you are chosen. Jesus will go to great lengths to find you as you are important to Him. You matter, You belong, and God will never give up on you!
God’s Word for You:
“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:18-19
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” – Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 1 Corinthians 5:17
