What a season we live in! My, my, my – sometimes just watching the news can bring you down. There is so much up in the air and everything is happening so quickly. I know I am getting older, but wow, how do these young kids keep up? What kind of a world are we leaving them? And our grandkids – ugggh. I don’t even want to imagine.
I was talking to my husband this morning and I asked, “How are our kids and the next generation going to keep going with our nations morals being flushed down the toilet?” I am a conservative Republican Christian, one of the minority these days. I base my moral compass on what God says, what the Bible says, what Jesus did, and the life everlasting.
Thinking back on my parents, and my grandparents generation – what happened? Where did all our morals go? What do we even stand for anymore? Just because something is a majority doesn’t mean it’s right, right? Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.
I checked in with the 2023 Gallup polls and here is what they found;
Views of State of Moral Values in U.S. at New Low –
Story Highlights
- 54% say the state of moral values in U.S. is poor; 33% only fair
- 83% think U.S. moral values are getting worse
- 74% of Republicans say moral values are poor; 97% think they are worsening
So, what to do? For me personally, spread the Word. Live the Word. Love the Word. Testify of the Word. We all need Jesus. If this like on Earth is all we have, no wonder people are so depressed! There has to be more. We were made for more than this world! We are not even of the world, we are in it, but not of it. Let us remind ourselves and teach our children that this world is not all that. It will bring sorrow, tears, and disappointment. But the Good News is that this is not our home!
Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us. He will come back for us and bring us to our heavenly home! Ah what a day that will be!
“For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” – Revelation 7:17
