WORDS OF WOE

By Diana Rasmussen
(from a long ago, faraway place)

Your love fills me up,Lord;
Your light it shines through,
This tomb of darkness –
but oh, what is true?

For in the fires of hell Lord,
Alone I won’t go;
Please just protect me –
From his words of woe.

Keep me safe from harm Jesus,
As he chases me around,
Not a moment of peace,
When his anger abounds.

My children are crying
all over again.
They’ll be up late tonight,
Lord, will it ever end?

Help me show them
Your love Lord in spite
of the chaos,confusion,
and fighting ’round here.

You Lord are constant;
my peace in the storm.
Your words don’t tear down –
get me out of this place.

I hold onto Your Word  Lord –
my strength and my shield;
but re-light your Spirit,
he’s blowing again!
