Protected by a Wall of Fire

Today I wanted to share some powerful scripture verses that you can claim and pray when you need Divine Protection.  When you speak these over yourself and your life – amazing things happen when you are a believer!  I cannot tell you how many times God stepped into my situation and gave me Divine Protection. He has protected me from abusers, car crashes, injuries, death, depression, violence, and so much more.  God is faithful to us, and to His WORD!

Psalm 5:11
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 20:1
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:3
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

Psalm 27:13
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

    Once again I have seen the protection of the Lord. Yesterday my daughter got in a car accident. The other car hit her right by the gas tank. The axle broke, the tire is off, and gas leaking everywhere. But the right arm of shod is mighty to save! She walked away with no injuries. And no fire! Praise Jesus!

I could not just bookmark this page without saying thank you.The churches ignore the teaching of declaring Gods over our lives and loved ones.I have a diary that I write down every word God leads me to from the bible.The bible declares Gods words as a sword I am using daily.I also check internet for more.Thank you this was a blessing I read it to my family daily.

  14. Ignorance on my part of what God had to say about marriage and abuse (more precisely, “obey the law of the land.” In our land it is illegal to cause bodily harm to another.

    When I chose to stay, I was aiding and abetting my abuser), combined with a wrong concept of God (I thought His opinion was, “Sucks to be you. You made your bed, now lie in it.”), and a strong desire to be a “good Christian woman,” kept me in an abusive marriage for ten years.

    Thankfully, it was the church women who pointed me at the nearest Women’s Refuge and gave me a healthy push. Contrary to what I expected, God cleared the way for us to escape and provided for us in ways more ways than I can tell here.

    For that reason, I’d like to state emphatically:
    IF YOU ARE ALLOWING SOMEONE TO ABUSE YOU, YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW – AND THIS DOES NOT PLEASE YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER – WHO LOVES YOU DEARLY. Allow Him to lead you to safety, PLEASE!

    Thanks for sharing these verses, Diana. There IS power in the Word…but I wouldn’t quote them while standing in front of an oncoming train and expect them to shield me from certain death! 🙂 That would fall under the category of “tempting God.” If Jesus wasn’t willing to do that, then I’ll follow His example.

  21. I am a Christian and so is my mother and she quoted scriptures and verses, but that didn’t stop my father from beating the crap out of her when he was drunk, which was almost everyday. why do you think that is?

    • Thank you for your comment. For my safety, and my children’s safety, I had to leave. Not all women do leave, that again is up to the individual. I will not even guess here as to why your mom stayed, idk. But that is an interesting subject, and one I will have to look into and address more. There are many reasons women are afraid to leave. many times the abuser makes it almost impossible to leave – you have no phone, no money, no car, etc.

      In my opinion/experience some men/women choose to do evil, and choose to abuse others to make themselves feel important. I believe that God knows what happened, He saw it, and He knows who is responsible. Wrong is wrong – and we will all have to give an account for our actions. Today I choose to let God be my Avenger. I trust Him with dealing with the abusers in my life. I have gained wisdom along my journey, learned my lessons the hard way – I used to stay and ‘just take it’ because I believed the lie that I was not worth anything else. Today, I know that is not true.

      No one deserves abuse.
      No one asks to be abused.

      Wherever there is power I do believe that there will be those who abuse it – at least on this side of Heaven. Many times the abuser has at one time been abused – that does not make it right in my opinion either, but I have to admit that the abuser is definitely sick too. And I was sick too – as a woman of domestic violence I did not set any boundaries whatsoever. I had to learn how to say no. And my abuser had to learn how to hear no. I had to learn how to make choices for myself to protect myself and my children. For me, I had to quit giving my ‘power’ away to someone else who wanted to hurt me. I had to take ownership of my own life. We live in a fallen world, and we each have free will – but I do trust that God can and will heal – both the abused, and the abuser.

      I hope I haven’t rambled on too much, thank you for sharing your story. It grieves me that you have traveled a similar path. Peace to you, Diana

      • Amen my sister… I totally agree. I have walked that path as you have and has seen the Mighty Hand of God rescue me and my children. He still protects us. There is Power in these scriptures as we proclaim them and cry out to God for His protection… and He protects like no other for He never sleeps and even sees what is in the hearts of each of us. And yes… I trust that God will heal both the abused and the abuser for the abusers function out of the wounds of their past as well.. We are all broken in this fallen world… until we find the Key to overcoming it—-God! I hope that you don’t mind that I reblog this… Love your sis!!

      • no, you haven’t rambled on at all. I actually never really thought about it till I read your post. My mom was horribly abused by my father, who was usually drunk. he was more than violent and beat and brutalized her badly. she became saved while they were married and would often be praying even as he walked through the door, and she knew she was in big trouble. so, after I read your post, I started to think back. and I thought, why didn’t God stop my father from nearly killing her almost every day of the week? why didn’t God stop my father from hurting her and calling her names and destroying who she was?
        Now, even through all that I became a Christian, and still am, so I know that there are just some things, I will not know right now.
        I don’t believe God wants us to stay with an abuser. I believe God gives us a brain and wants us to use it. I don’t believe he intended for us to be a physical or verbal punching bag for anyone.
        I think it is a major flaw in some churches and some sects of Christianity that a spouse should stay no matter what.
        I am sorry that you have been through such circumstances as well.

        • Thank you for sharing your story with us. I agree with you, too many churches, or should I say the people in church, have absolutely no idea what goes on after 12:00 on Sunday morning. I think we should tell ’em! Actually I went to 3 different Pastors over 8 years and they ALL told me to leave the abuser! One even offered to “take him back behind the woodshed”! Lol! Oh well, it took me a while, but I left. Live and learn…

        • Thank God they gave you good advice, so many don’t and I think this just confuses the person being abused even more. Because then they think- Gee, God must want me to stay married no matter what, so what am I doing wrong. Then try harder and the abuser has even more power. it can be a vicious cycle…
