How to Heal a Broken Heart

We have all experienced it – a broken heart. It may happen in love, in life, or in family or even when someone passes away. Wherever it comes from, it hurts. Sometimes our heart just aches.

There is even a medical name for it now – Broken Heart Syndrome. Those of us who have experienced multiple traumas or grief will understand. I had to research this more. According to Cleveland Clinic:

Signs and symptoms of broken heart syndrome include:

It is curable, and your Dr. may put you on some meds to help you heart work right. That’s what happened to me anyway. I guess 3 failed marriages, poverty, abuse, and just being plain lost has it’s cost.

Once I started feeling better, I wanted to heal the brokenness inside. I was tired of keeping me, Jesus, friends, family, and everyone out of that Shame Room. You know, that’s where the secrets that we don’t tell anyone about our past life. That’s the Room that houses our pain, our rejection, our inadequacies, and all the things we don’t want to talk about. That’s the place where the bad spirits live.

Those bad spirits will feed off your fear, your anxiety, your shame, your inadequacies, and smash your hope, your dreams, and your peace. They will kick you when you are down. They will whisper in your ear all sorts of negative things – even when you are at Church!

It took a while, but I finally learned how to kick those bad spirits out of my head – Declare the Word of God over them and myself!

I had a few Christians in my life that pointed me to the Word. I searched it out and these are the scriptures that I found that help to heal my broken heart. These are from DailyVerses.net

These days life is much better. I have learned how to accept God’s grace, and let Jesus wash over me until I am white as snow! Don’t give up – God is not finished with your story!
