God Promised Us Rain

Have you ever been to the desert? Miles and miles of sand with no water in sight. Even the cactuses look dry. Sometime I have found that my life seems like a desert. Sometimes relationships or jobs or hope just dries up. And it seems like there is no hope. Been there? Yeah me too.

Just when I give up it seems that God shows up. I really think He was there the whole time. He said He would never leave me or forsake me. Maybe in the desert I just forgot that part. Heat will do that to a girl…

But God promises us rain – to refresh, to renew, and restore everything we thought had dried up. Hang on friends, here comes the rain!

Now Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of the roar of an abundance of rain.” -1 Kings 18:41

If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and obediently do them, then I will give you rain in its season, and the land will yield her produce and the trees of the field bear their fruit. – Leviticus 26:3-4

The Lord will open for you His good treasure house, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow. The Lord will make you the head leader and not the tail follower; and you will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen and pay attention to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today, to observe them carefully. – Deuteronomy 28:12-13

  2. It has been raining here for 5 days and I was feeling tired of it, but after reading your post I feel different. I decided to enjoy it since my life feels like I’m in the desert. I’ll remember this from your post; God does promises us rain – to refresh, to renew, and restore everything we thought had dried up (My life). Thanks for the beautiful reminder.
