God is Not a Deadbeat Dad

God is NOT a deadbeat dad. With over 50% of marriages ending in divorce these days there is a lot of child support being collected – or not. I am one of those statistics. I have four kids from two different dads. With the first two I paid child support – for 16 years. Every dime. I even paid after the youngest turned 19 to get caught up.

And then I had two more kids with another dad. And I have placement this time? So he has been court ordered to pay for the last 9 years. But he hasn’t. So, back to court we go for the umpteenth time. He’s working, has new house, car, etc. yet he refuses to pay his support.

I wrote about this last year in

MY EVERYDAY LIFE PLUS COURT

I am sure I am not the only one in this boat. And I got to thinking about God. He’s not a deadbeat Dad. He provides more than enough in every story. Remember Joseph? Remember Esther? Remember Abraham? God always made a way where there was no way. He owns it all. And He is the Father that is never behind on his child support – because He never divorces us!

And I have to brag on God. The Lord has provided for me and the kids. We have always had a home, a bed, a car, and a job. God is faithful. He provides, especially for the widows and orphans, and the fatherless. And God restores. I had pretty much given up on love and marriage after that last divorce. I took a year off from seeing anyone. And just when I had given up hope God brought me a man he had chosen – Bob. Bob and I have been together 7 years now. I believe in love, I have seen it. And thanks to him, so have my children.

“For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.”
(Isaiah 54:5 NKJV)

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
Will bring her into the wilderness,
And speak comfort to her.

I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope;
She shall sing there,
As in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

“And it shall be, in that day,”
Says the Lord,
“That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’
And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’

Hosea 2:15I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me
In righteousness and justice,
In lovingkindness and mercy;
I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,
And you shall know the Lord.”

(Hosea 2:14-16, 19-20 NKJV)

  1. You’re right. He isn’t a deadbeat dad. He’s worse than a deadbeat dad. What kind of dad predestines HIS OWN child to hell before they’re even in the mother’s womb? What kind father plays favorites with his children by having an elect. What kind father ignores the cries of his creation and of the reprobate. I’ve witnessed first hand God being a horrible father to me. Just look up online “I’m afraid I have lost my salvation on Google.” Oh and God the father sent very abusive and merciless demons to possess a retarded person trying to finish high school just because she gave him what he deserves for setting up the fall of man for his glory. He only supplies for certain people.

  2. Diana, I, too, am living proof that God is a Wonderful Provider. I hadn’t seen that Hosea quote. When I looked it up, it was so much more. Thank you for that. Oh – and don’t forget about how he provided for Ruth and Naomi! He truly is the Perfect Father and Husband. <3

  3. Awesome post… and I am so happy for you and Bob! Your children now have a Godly role-model which is so needed in every home. Many blessings my sister!!

  4. This posting lies close to my heart. After 30 years in mental health, I’ve worked with so, so many women and their children who have been dealt an unfair hand. Thank Our Lord that He is a merciful and faithful God! May you, Bob, and your children remain blessed all the days of your lives… Big Hug!

    • Thank you remnantrefuge. It does drive us crazy that they get away with it! I have to say I had to give it to God and carry on or I would still be stuck. Thank goodness God can and does restore all things. – whether the ex pays or not, lol!
