God is Preparing You for Great Things

We all have seasons in our lives. Spring is great, everything is growing and turning green. Winter just sucks in my book. I am not a snowbird. I don’t like cold. Everything is buried and dormant. Winter is a hard season – both in the natural and in the spiritual.

We have seasons in our faith walk too. There are times of growth where wer feel like we are on fire, and then other times when it seems like absolutely nothing is happening. This is normal.

We can’t base our faith on how we feel.

God is faithful and He promised never to leave us or forsake us.

So guess what? God is there whether we “feel” Him or not!

I love that! My feelings are pretty fickle. They come and go and change from day to day. Some days they just don’t make sense. I mean, I know God is with me and for me, but some days I feel like I fell off the turnip truck and missed my ride.

Those are the times, the dry seaosons, that I need to read the Word more and look for myself what God really says about preparing us for great things. His plans for us are so much better than what we could have dreamed up ourselves.

God’s Word for You:

  • “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Phillipians 1:6 NKJV
  • For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,  while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NKJV
  • Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
    Because His compassions fail not.
     They are new every morning;
    Great is Your faithfulness.
    “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “Therefore I hope in Him!”” – Lamentations 3:22-24 NKJV
  • “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
