So much hope here if you are in the ‘cave’.
My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. (Psa 57:4-5)
In Psalm 57 David is writing from a cave. He finds himself in the darkness, having fled his enemies. Perhaps you find yourself in a place of darkness today? Have you fled to your own personal “cave?’ It is interesting that places that start out as a place of refuge, a hiding place can quickly become a prison. In Psalm 142, we again find David writing from a cave, he cries out to God “bring my soul out of prison.” His cave, his place of safety and refuge had become a prison.
